I have been trying to decide which is the correct card choice in vintage.  Obviously for storm duress is because you rarely care about there creatures but in which instances is which better?

Duress obviously cant get those goyfs, coutls, and welders.

But it also cant be misdirected back at you and doesnt have the -2 life.

I think to a point the card choice is situational but I wanted to get some opions.

Ive seen storms running thoughtseize and not playing 4 duress, which is just insane to me. But as far goes for control tezzeret i preffer thougtseize over duress any day. In my tezz build ive run:

2 Thoughtseize
1 Duress (so u can tutor it up vs storm or sth)

but now i just run

3 Thoughseize, because i think hitting welder and confidant is just to important for you, and also there isnt much storm arround and the 2 life loss doesent hurt 2 much

in storm i would run:

4 Duress
0-2 Thoughtseize

I play three Thoughseizes and two Duress in any deck I ever build, you need this disruption if you play black. I believe thoughtseize is better on so many levels now because of welders and fish decks running around to take a creature is sometimes the better play, and with brainstorm out of the picture its even better now. Thats what I play in my decks, just a thought

Over all thoughtseize is tee bees knees! Tho most of the time some type of split is the good choice..
6 discard..I like 4t 2d
5.... 3t 2d
4 ....3t 1d.
