I ended up missing top 8 it seems by a narrow margin I believe I aws 9th and honestly I feel I just got unlucky in
I was running gbw fish I guess
3 mox
1 lotus
19 land (9 fetch 3 waste 1 strip and duals)
duress (4)
seize (4)
vamp tutor
demonic consult
teeg (3)
goyf (4)
B.O.B (4)
pridemage (4)
diabolic edict (2)
null rod (x4)
aven mindcensor (x4)
kataki (x2)

board:
leyline x4
seal of primordium x3
kataki x1
diab edict x2
children of korlis x4
pernacious deed x1

r1 r/u painter
I keep a hand of fetch ,dual, mox, goyf, duress, thoughtseize, pridemage
The games pretty quick I rip his tinker turn with duress followed by seize for his recall.  I drop a goyf after drawing duress and taking his mana drain and pretty much just beat for the win after dropping repeated creatures.
g2:  I board in 3 seal for the 3 teegs because he doesnt seem to be running much it effects and also board in the edicts for katakis to get rid of the painters servants.
He counters alot of my early creatures outdraws me and eventually pulls thru on the win with him being at 1 or 2 at the end.  I do recall opening with land ,lotus null rod it gets FoW'd to another null rod turn 1 though.

g3:  I duress on turn 1 and he has a FoW then proceeds to lotus bloodmoon.  I draw a mox jet a few turns later but cant do to much with it before he mox monkeys it and I lose.  Ahh well gg.

r2 spellstutter tezz
I play a guy i just saw playing against james king and had seen jitte and spellstutter sprite and james I had killed him with a single spellstutter and counters.  I awsnt to worried.
I have a pretty crazy opener game 1 and strip his hand with duress + seize turn 1 and follow up with land and drop aven mindcensor when i say go and he fetches.  Basically I have him down to lethal damage later in the match on my next turn he has 1 card in hand (manadrain) but has just time vault in play, he rips ponder and proceeds to ponder into key for the win.  Suffice it to say im fucking irritated by the suck out but dont sweat it much because I was crushing him all game except for the act of god.
G2:  I draw mox +4 cards to my 11 land after mulling to 5 and drawing no cards at all.  I lose.

r3 u/b mill?
So I play another 0-2 feeling shitty about my fun filled luck.  He playing U/B control with arcane denials , mind funerals, and a cuople thoughtseize.  I run him over both games without anything even happening.

r4 uwb standstill fish
I play a cool guy who says he hasnt barely played in 5 years.  Hes running a weird version of yer standard fish.  Game 1 i just run him over his aracne denials keep refilling me + I have bob and then a 2nd bob and he cant keep up.

G2 : he lands a early stand still and since I mulled to 5 im happy to see it.
10 - 12 turns later of draw discard go, he lands 3 factorys I waste the 1st 2 and dont have an answer to the third.
Then with us having fully loaded hands I decide i have to act on his turn and just try and blow him out before factory crushes me.
I vamp tutor right before his discard phase , he draws 3 and responds with a FoW, I respond with a demonic consultation , he responds with recall targetting himself then arcane deniles my consult.  He draws his like 6 cards and discards down 7 again  I draw 2 on my upkeep and we both 8 in the wad.  I play land and open duress which he allows I take his FoW since hes tapped and drop double goyf.  He plays grunts andmeddling mage on his turn  , my turn i wack him with a double diabolic edict and drop another creature and just manage to get there.

r5 elves combo
He was doing as shitty as me and wanted to draft, we played 1 game in which he raped my pretty hard though i did get him to 9 before he went off.  He scooped to me because I was still hoping to top 8 but my tiebreakers just ended up being short.

Good tourney had fun bullshitting with some of the forum regulars and just playing, wished I could have got there but now its prep time for ICBM.

So you started 0-2, beat a UB mill deck, got scooped to when down a game in the final round, and yet you honestly feel that you were unlucky to miss the t8?

nah i guess i should rephrase
i feel like if it wasnt for the 2 major suck outs in match 2, and a lotus bloodmoon turn 1 in g3 of match 1 I would have coasted to top 8, blood moons didnt bother me much, the retarded luck in match 2 did , but none theless it was a fun tourney and I was dissapointed to not get top 8 due to tie breakers but ohh well
Full warning for flaming -Eastman

I fell like I phrased my first post in such a way that it was not a personal attack, and I think (at least LHC) many people agreed with what I had to say. You do not understand the format. I think the biggest thing you misunderstand is the fact that you choose to play a deck that is worse than almost every deck in the tournament, and by that I mean the decks you play against are built to do better and more broken things so naturally they are going to have broken draws more often than you are. It is just that simple. You can play a deck like yours and win some matches here and there against the top decks, but over the course of a longer tournament you pickup some free wins because you have Ancestral Recall, Tinker, and Yawgmoth's Will that can single-handedly win games that are otherwise hopeless. Whereas if your deck falls behind your Null Rods and 8 Duress begin to look pretty embarrassing. On top of that you aren't playing with Force of Will! Which means you have no way of protecting yourself from a turn 1Tinker or even a turn 1 Blood Moon.

Reality check: you played 5 rounds of magic and came away with 1 honest win, and you are having trouble seeing that? If you can't honestly reflect on your own results then you will never get better. And that’s all I really meant to say with my post. Your immature response to my constructive criticism is really just sad and I am truly sorry I bothered to try and help you in the first place.

This deck looks like a pile, I dont play as much type one as I would like, but everything Owen said seems true. He tried to help and you acted like a scrub. S.o stop being a scrub, because as the immortal group TLC said, "we dont want no scrubs"

Seems like you lost to real decks, and then beat (given free wins) by fake decks. Good tourney if you feel you were cheated out of the t8  :/

You should sharpen your R/G beats match up more. You would have won it all then. lol

This guy is a lost cause, he cried when we played on MWS and I crushed his pile with an almost 2 year old version of R/G beats. Doesn’t surprise me to see the same attitude from him after losing in a tournament.
