Great to see you guys back at it.  I'm glad you're doing a Mox instead of cash - cash prizes aren't sustainable in the long term.  This is a great venue, and I look forward to playing here again.

This TO has consistently offered some of the best prize support of any local scene I've been to.  I encourage everyone who has the time to make it for one of these.

Regardless of attendance the 1st place Mox Sapphire is GUARANTEED to be given out.

We have had solid results in the past, so I am really not worried about the attendance numbers, so no matter the players, the Sapphire will be given out  Smile

Also, those who know me, know that we stand behind our prize support no matter the format, this is no different with Vintage events for us.  Those who attended any of the 400.00 cash tournaments know that with numbers like 26 players I still gave away 400.00 CASH plus a playset of Force of Wills, Dual Lands and cool prizes to the top 8.

Any questions, comments or suggestions, post them here or shoot me an email, I will try and check the thread once a day or so.

ABOUT TIME SOME REAL TOURNAMENTS WITH ACTUAL PRIZE SUPPORT COME BACK TO NEW ENGLAND.
Seeing a prize structure where the T.O doesn't just completely assrape the players that show and actually give out the correct prize pool is something that I hope catches back on.

This ridiculous tournament scene of paying 25 bucks to win an 80 dollar split in top 4 has to come to an end.

I am there, and ever single person from the perfect scrubs better come, I will finally smash matt mcnally for the first time ever if he shows.

Great event!  Will definately try to attend another one.

Top 8 consisted of 4 Bob-Tezz, Painter/Vault, Future sight/Counter Balance (with Vault), 5C Shops, RG, and Mono Red Painter.
Pairings were RG vs. Mono Red, Bob Tezz vs. Bob Tezz, Painter/Vault vs. Bob Tezz, and Future sight/Counter Balance (with Vault) vs 5C Shops

The top 4 was the Mono Red Painter, 5C Shops, and 2 Bob-Tezz, with the finals being the mirror.

i believe there were 27-ish people that braved the hurricane-ish weather to play.  I hope this is the beginning of a resurgence of t1 popularity here in New England

This was a lot of fun, despite having to drive through rain on the way down.

I went 2-1 in Tezz mirrors (losing to topdecked Key with Vault on the table after Duressing then Regrowth->Ancestral, Ancestral in one game.  At least it was to Arik playing Tezz, and not Arik playing BUG Fish!), and 0-2 against Magus of the Moon, Trinisphere and Sundering Titan.

Congrats to the winner and top 8!

Team Maine will be there for the next one.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.
