Prizes

As with all our events, prizes scale up with attendance, so the more the merrier!
~ 90% of the prizes will go to the Top 8.
The remaining ~10% will go to community support prizes including Runner Up Prizes, a Preregistration Prize, and a Carpool Prize.

We'll also be hosting a Free Side Event for $100 of Myriad Money, which will begin after the first rounds of the main event.

Here are some examples of the prize distribution based on attendance:

20 Players - Total Myriad Money ~ $1,000 Myriad Money
30 Players - Total Myriad Money ~ $1,500 Myriad Money
40 Players - Total Myriad Money ~ $2,000 Myriad Money

Carpool Prize!
In addition to the economic, social, and environmental benefits of sharing a ride to our fine Vintage events, all players who attend that come to the event via a carpool will be entered in a bonus drawing for an additional door prize. So make plans with your friends now to get a car together for this event. You'll save money on gas and have a chance to win as well!

All players who preregister will be entered in a drawing for a Bonus Preregistration Prize for an additional door prize.

To help registration and reporting run more smoothly, please print out your deck registration sheet ahead of time and bring them to the event. We recommend that you type out your deck list and print it off ahead of time.

Now that's what I'm talking about!  The side event is excellent too, as it gives you a second chance to win back your entry if you 0-2.  I'd like to hear more details about it.  Would it be after round 2?  How many players can play?  Single Elimination?

For the side event, I believe we'll begin after Round 2, when Round 3 begins and run it as straight Swiss+1 with the same deck you're playing in the main event and prizes based on points at the end of the Swiss rounds. This will give all players the chance to play all day and have each game count, either getting closer to the Top 8 in the main event or playing toward prizes in the side event. Any players that drop from the main event may play.

We received a request for clarification on the bonus Myriad Money we'll be providing for the Free Side Event. The $100 of Myriad Money will not be part of the overall prize pool, but an additional $100 of Myriad Money, so that will be in addition to the prize payout. We're further upgrading the side event if we have 20+ players for the main event, adding a From the Vault: Exiled set for 1st place, with the bonus $100 of Myriad Money going to the rest of the top players in the side event. The side event should begin after Round 2 of the main event. Players will need to drop from the main event to participate in the Free side event. The side event will be straight Swiss using the same deck played in the main event.

Less than two weeks until this event...

We're adding another bonus door prize, drawn from all players who travel more than 50 miles to attend this Premium event! This will be on top of the Main Event Prizes, Side Event Prizes, Preregistration Prize, Carpool Prize, and Best Deck Name Prizes!

I'm afraid that 'Team' Maine won't be able to make this event.  My teammate and I have unfortunately each gotten swamped with work.  The silver lining is that the work is coming now, which will allow me to not worry while on my much needed vacation later this month.  I was hoping to be able to make it this month, will have to try again next time.

For the record, I would have played 'instant-speed Tezzeret', with Stifle, Spell Pierce, Mana Drain, Rack and Ruin, and ELECTROLYZE.
