Here's a home brew 5c Stax list I've been thinking over that relies on enchantments as much as artifacts (too bad there's no welder for enchantments  Sad [the closest thing I can think of is rector] ) It also includes Replenish to help with enchantment lock pieces. I realize it needs serious work.
Lands:18
4 City of Brass
4 Gemstone Mine
4 Mishra's Workshop
1 Strip Mine
2 Wasteland
1 Tolarian Academy
2 Bazaar of Baghdad
Artifacts: 24
1 Black Lotus
5 Moxen
1 mana crypt
1 Mana Vault
1 Sol Ring
3 Smokestack
3 Tangle Wire
2 Thorn of Amythyst
2 Sphere of Resistance
1 Trinisphere
2 Crucible of Worlds
Creatures: 5
4 Goblin Welder
1 Karn
Other: 12 (This is the part that needs fixing as it goes over 60 cards)
1 Balance
2 Aura of Silence (removal and lockdown)
3 Crop Rotation
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Decree of Silence (win-more?)
1 Fastbond (allows 1 turn strip/waste decimation with crucible, useful anyway to get permanents out anyway)
2 Mycosynth Lattice (makes my enchantment lock pieces into artifacts to be welded and such)

Sideboard: 15
3 Panoptic Mirror
1 Tinker
1 Time Vault
1 Voltaic Key
2 Choke
1 Nether Void
2 Mycosynth Lattice (to make lock enchantments into artifacts therefore weldable)
2 Tabernacle at the Pendrell Vale
1 Parallax Wave
1 Sphinx of the Steel Wind

70 cards....the enchanments feel necessary as Aura is disruption and a one sided lock piece that can be hardcast, it should be here. Decree is a one sided lock piece meant to be discarded by Bazarr and replenished out as is Parallax Tide but that works best with the Replenish-Panoptic Mirror combo that this deck should easily be able to reach that lies in the sideboard moved to SB is inferior to strip lock. Smallpox was originally going to have a place too but it got cut. I'm basically trying to add enchantment back-up to stax (if Wizards asked me to design one card it would be an enchantment version of Goblin Welder, there's so much (no pun intended) untapped potential with a card like that. There's enough enchantments in all five colors to create a lockdown deck and I wish it was viable [end of rant]). Suggestions, criticism, and encouragement welcome!

The standard Stax lock components (sphere and thorn) are superior to Aura of Silence b/c they are easier for Stax to cast (double W is a problem), and because they hit a wider class of spells.

Some enchantments which have been used to good effect in 5c Stax in the past are In the Eye of Chaos and Chain of Meph.

And Energy Flux (I kid!  I kid!).
