Just to let people know (we've already contacted Alex), there's a growing group of Vintage players in the DC/Northern Virginia area that's now up to five.  If anyone else has interest in being contacted about local testing or tournament rides, send an email to dcvintage at googlegroups.com or contact me here.

Alex,

Also, there's a pretty huge group of Vintage players in the Maryland region (around Baltimore) if you're interested in going up that far from time to time.  We have just recently started a Monday Night Vintage group at Legends Comics in Towson, Maryland. PM me if you want/need more info.

Yeah!  You guys need to start having more tournaments too.  I liked going up to those.  And now the Northern Virginia area will actually be able to contribute to turnout.

Also, players at American University need to organize.  Maybe throw up some flyers?

Stay tuned.  There is one in the planning stages.  The TO has a Beta Mox Pearl (cracked from a Zendikar priceless treasure pack) that he is trying to trade away for 2 Unlimited Moxen.  That way, we can get 2 tournaments or a double Mox tournament going.

Definitely working on organizing the AU players around here (PS, that's me, one of the other AU players around here). Also hoping to get new players into the game, but grad school eats my time...

Alex, if you're in DC itself I'll happily meet up sometime to play because 1) testing is awesome, 2) getting play time with vintage in general is awesome.

Perhaps the DC / Maryland folks ought to organize a get-together some day? Perhaps not necessarily a tournament (though that'd be fun), but just a day to get together and play a bunch of friendly face to face games / experiment a little? I'd happily organize it, if I could get contact information.

Perhaps we could either meet up at Legends and/or Dream Wizards from time to time.  It would be fun to setup some type of gauntlet between both groups to prepare for big tournaments (such as the NJ/Philly Open coming up).

We could probably manage this.  What's next weekend look like for you guys?  We usually meet on Sunday afternoons anyway, so this wouldn't be a big stretch except for a little more driving.

AU player here.  Still in the middle of getting through huge papers, getting cards shipped over, etc.  But there will be a break soon, so I could definitely be in on any T1 action going down in two weeks or so (I hope).

Where do you usually meet up?  I spoke to a few people at Monday Night Vintage at Legends tonight, and a handful might be able to do something Saturday afternoon.

i am also a player from baltimore and would def be interested in some sort of testing and or tourney..... maybe we could get some kind of monthly tourney going for just a cash prize....  like mark said... for about a month or so we have had decent sessions every monday at legends in towson so im sure we could get a halfway decent turnout for somekind of monthly thing........ and i was at the legacy tourney at dream wizards this past weekend and there a few people saying the played vintage so maybe we could get a few of them involved.....

Starting in March, I will be in D.C. for at least a few months, hopefully can get some card action going.

"After these years of arguing I've conceded that Merchant Scroll in particular can be an exception to this rule because it is a card that you NEVER want to see in multiples, under any circumstances. Merchant Scroll can be seen as restricted in a way because should you have 2 in a hand, only one is really useful (that is, only one can get Ancestral)."
