A little more than a month to go and a few quick points/questions:

1.  How does everyone feel about some kind of team event held over the course of the tournament?  I'm not sure how I would work this, but I'd strongly consider running something like this as it certainly would be fun for the local area teams.

2.  I'm still up in the air in regards to what should be offered as the Sportsmanship prize for the event.  I'm taking suggestions.  I want to offer something in the 15-25 dollar range.  While I'd love to offer power as that prize, it's just not feasible.

3.  It looks like we're going to have another solid turnout, as many of the locals who went off to school will be coming back right in time for the event.  I thoroughly look forward to seeing Josh, Alex, Aaron and quite a few others.

So, please digest that and let me know what you all think...

Love team stuff, it adds another fun element to the tournament.  I'm all for it.

I'd consider running something like X teams sign up, donating Y dollars.  Teams accrue points in relation to the match win points that its members garner over the course of the tournament.  At the end, the winning team wins Z dollars, where Z is the total of Y multiplied by the number of teams entered.

And I hope to see you on the 21st in Edison.  We can start talking about those pinstripes that you'll be wearing in the near future...

That's fine - if you'd prefer that I pay your entry, I'm ok with that too.

It'll be good to get you back in tournament action!

I'm ready for Nick's event.  Should be a blast.

A fetch isn't bad, though I might just go out and pick up a Delta or something equally valuable (maybe a Misty) instead.  They're the most valuable, I'd imagine that's what people would choose - and because I'm not a dealer, I don't have an extensive collection of extra stuff.

Foil Goatnappers are an awesome idea.  They are uncommons though.  I'm exceptionally tempted...

And, thanks to you, James Hangley (with the original idea put in my head by Nomad) I want to run an EDH side event.  Maybe we'll switch the original side event for that.  I'm open to ideas, but this format is a ton of fun, and I want to play...

Im starting my own team just for this event: Me, Visna Harris, and whoever is the youngest child at the tournament that day.  I haven't settled on a final team name yet but here are the canidates:

Vintage Playing Automaton Mark IV
THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST
Dot Hog Revival Tour: Back on the Streetz
We Wear Wolf T-Shirts
Vamp for DT
Doesn't Afraid of Anything
Tapping It 2: Electric Bugaloo
Girls Quiddich Team Broom-saddle Sniffers Anonymous

I need not talk any smack other than to point to the Half Dead and the Drawn and Quartered that we leave in our wake.  Fractions speak louder than words.

After speaking with a few guys yesterday at Nick Coss's tournament, it looks like we might have a fair number of people coming from the Great White North.  I also ran into quite a few people from the NJ/PA area who mentioned making the trip for the first time.

I think we're in for another solid showing...

Hahaha.  There will be much Snapple...

We're going to have quite the cast of characters come December 19th, including some of the local NY PT crowd.  Should be a real blast.

I have, over the last few events, picked up a bunch of guys who take the train to Long Island from Manhattan.  If you're interested in coming to the event, let me know and I'll send you a PM with my cell number.  If you can make it to the train station in Oceanside (which is on the Long Island Railroad, and accessible from Penn Station) then I can get you to the event site.

I would be looking to get you somewhere between 9:30-10 so that I can get to the event site with a little extra time to spare.

I would like to offer a special 9th place prize, if you don't mind pushing back 4x foil mudhole.  It is probably the best prize I would ever have given out.

To let everyone else know, I spoke with Nick about this and have taken him up on his offer.  The 9th place prize of 4x foil Mudhole will be pushed back for January's Lotus event.

We'll be glad to have you.  Should be a great tournament.  Roland and Paul made it to the last event, so you probably won't be alone team-wise.
