Is this the end of Zombie Shakespeare?

I was wondering if one of the judges we have here could illuminate me as to what the "Casual Non-Rated Constructed" format available through the DCI exactly entails?

It is not a format that is listed in the Magic Tournament Rules PDF. Does that mean it does not necessarily have to follow the rules included in that document? Specifically, is this a means for TOs to run Vintage events with proxies while allowing the participants to earn Player Rewards?

Thanks in advance!

I'm reasonably sure this is the official name for the Open Dueling that went on during PT Austin (and probably other big tournaments), where you play five games against five people, and get a free pack for being social and fun.

Thanks.

I was able to locate the Casual Play FAQs for Wizards Play Network. As per my questions in the original post, Casual Play does not affect Player Rewards or allow proxies.

Casual Non-Rated Events are the Wizards Play Network way to sanction casual play.  You sanction it, and it just requires the DCI #s of the participants.  They go up in the event locator, and it's a way to attract attention and grow your local events.  They don't affect rating or magic player rewards.  You'd this kind of thing if you want to have a night of Pauper Magic or a Wacky Draft.

Wacky Draft? You mean involving Unglued or Unhinged packs?

Wacky Draft is a draft where everybody just brings 3 packs and you draft them.  So you may open a Kamigawa pack and get passed a Ravnica pack.  It's not sanctionable because everybody doesn't have the same 3 packs.

Unglued or Unhinged packs are another example though, sure.

We've done that, like when I scored 2 Alliances, 2 Weatherlight and 2 Nemesis packs at cover price.  Was fun! People brought in 5th Dawn, Onslaught and whatever else was availiable in 2005.
