So I need a new game to play. Vintage and Magic sucks. What should I play? (Please not WoW, I realized that's unhealthy)

Try playing the hokey pokey, it's good for the magic blues.

A little more information would help people answer your question.
What do you like to do?
What did you like about Magic when you played it?

Do you want to play a game in a formal competitive environment or something more casual?
Card/board game or video game?

You could play Defence of the Ancients (DOTA), a Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne custom map ( http://www.dota-allstars.com/). The learning curve is pretty steep because of the large number of skills and items, but it is definitely a fun team-based strategy game (5v5) and tough to get bored of. A stand-alone version with its own platform is being developed, called Heroes of New Earth (in Open Beta atm--you can get in if you find someone to invite you). Edit: If you're looking for another CCG there's also Legend of the Five Rings (L5R). I never really got into it but a lot of my friends liked it.

If you need a beta key, I have extras in which to invite you. There's another DotA remake coming out called League of Legends that some of my friends swear by. Although, when it really comes down to it, Dominion is basically the stone blade

If you want an intellectually challenging game I recommend Civilization IV. Ive been playing it on and off for a few weeks now and it's so unbelievably complex.

Starcraft and Super Smash Brothers (N64) are still as fun as ever.
Anyone who hasn't played Portal (part of The Orange Box on 360 or PC) missed out. It's short but incredibly enjoyable.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.
Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops. I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

No mentions of Munchkin? I'm ashamed of you all! :p
Also, honourable mentions go to WOW TCG, Doom (boardgame). and Talisman (Original version preferred, but new version's okay).

As far as TCGs go nothing really beats vintage imo.
Dominion,Munchkin and Chess take the cake as far as boardgames go, another fun board game is Blokus.
As far as videogames go, Guilty Gear for fighting games (AC if you have someone local to play with, #R if you're going to play online), TF2 for FPS, You could DL an emulator and play super mario bros. 3 because it's one of the best games ever imho. Dota and broodwar are both awesome if you have friends that will play or don't mind pubs.

It is indeed fun, and way less complicated to learn then DOTA was. Also, for someone who didnt like DOTA, I find it way more fun too.

I usually go for RTS games (C&C3 is good, Starcraft is still awesome, and the SC 2 is on the way aswell), and turn based strategy games (Heroes of might and magic 2 and 3 are pretty good)
Other then that co-op FPS games are fun. (I like serious sam, a bit old, but still rocks)
Board games....No idea, i'm not into those...You could ofcourse try WoW TCG or yu-gi-oh...I've heard that there's alot more to yu-gi-oh then meets the eye, but i'm sceptic.

When I need a Magic break I usually play: Team Fortress 2 (Half-Life 2) Counter-Strike Source (I just load up a bunch of bots on high difficulty and slaughter) Guild Wars (A lot of fun if you have time... i sort of ran out of time to keep doing all of the quests and advancing)
If you are just sick of Vintage, why don't you just try another format for a bit? Do some FNM's or Drafts for a breather?

You should just play wow. It's not unhealthy as long as you have any self control.
PvP or raiding is grand. Why spend weeks preparing for a luck based card game when you can converse and work together to accomplish feats and have fun with 24 other people? all while talking with them and joking around over ventrillo?

No idea what you're talking about. I spend far less time on wow than I ever did on MtG. All while organizing and main tanking raids for endgame content.

as for card games - Rook
board games - Backgammon, Risk or Stratego
or just go to the local casino and get into the nickle and penny machines, always fun, not a big investment and easy to win..
