Location:
The Game Preserve
101 West Kirkwood
Bloomington, IN 47404
(812) 332-6602

Date:  Sunday, December 6, 2009

Time:  Registration begins at 12:00 p.m. EST - Round 1 begins at 1:00 p.m. EST

Format:  Type 1

Proxies:  Unlimited

1st Prize:  BETA Mox Ruby (Guaranteed with 12 players)
2nd-4th Prizes:  TBD based on attendance; however, if we get 18 players, the prize support is guaranteed at:
2nd:  2 x New Fetchland
3rd:  1 x New Fetchland
4th:  1 x New Fetchland

Entry Fee:  $20

More Information:  This would be the first T1 tournament in southern Indiana, to my knowledge, since I ran a few 3 years back.  I have convinced the store manager that we can get at least 12 people, and probably since the prize support is phenomenall.  Please don't make a liar out of me!  Smile  Also, if you plan to come to this event, please RSVP by posting in this thread as I will most likely have to cancel the tournament if we don't get at least 10 players RSVPed!

I will try to get at least 2-3 other people to go with me to this.

Very stoked to see some quality Vintage action in Indiana.   Very Happy

I can most likely get a ride for you, if need be.  I have a friend coming down from Indy.

Is there anyone from Ohio interested in going to this?  I may be going I am about a 4 hour drive from there, so if anyone else from the Findlay area in Ohio is interested PM me here and I will get a hold of you.

There should be at least two people coming from the Louisville area.

I think the most surreal thing is when a complete stranger you meet at a tournament hears your name and goes "Oh, yeah. I've read your stuff." It's kind of weird, yet feels good all at the same time.

Awesome, it looks like we should have a pretty good turnout so far.

It will be cool to see you Tash.  I don't think I've seen you in 2 or 3 years?

I will for sure be coming.  I am trying to get 2 or 3 more to come with me, not sure on them yet, but you can count on 1 for sure, me.  Does anyone from Ohio need a ride?  If so feel free to PM me.

The parking around the event is 2hr free street parking. There is a garage to the South of the event site that is either free or VERY cheap on weekends (like $5 for the whole day, I think), other than that, parking is kind of a beast long-term in downtown Bloomington.

Mike, what places do you suggest for after-tournament festivities? Kind of hard to find some places on a Sunday; Nick's is an option.

Note: Indiana will not sell you alcohol of any kind on a Sunday unless you're in a bar, thanks to our blue laws. Another reason why blue sucks.

I would recommend that people park in the parking garage on 4th street (one block directly south of the store).  Also, if you park at the top of the parking garage, you can take the skywalk into the Fashion Square Mall (which is where the store is located).

As for after tournament hangout, I'd probably recommend the Trojan Horse.

Anyone know for sure that they are or aren't coming?  If you are, how many people are you bringing?  Mainly looking for answers from the people who said they would probably be here.

I'd talk to serracollector.  If he is coming from Ohio, he will most likely be coming through Indy on US-70 to hit 465 down to IN-37.  Maybe you guys can work something out.

Okay, it's looking like the peeps I was trying to drag along to this shindig are dragging their feet.

Is anyone passing by South Bend and willing to give me a ride in exchange for gas money & the pleasure of my company?

I'm right off US 20 (5 mins).

Post here if you can offer a lift (e-mail removed b/c of spambot potential).

So how was this? Prior Christmas Party engagement had me tied up, but I'm interested in seeing the results. Was it another Vroman win?

T8:

Doug Linn (The Deck) def. Vroman (Oath)
Ben Tash (Tezz) def. Michael Bolomoth (sp?) (Tezz)
Preston Cordy (Tezz) def. Dave Spiehler (Meandeck Beats)
Kurt Marske (Painter) def. Cory ??? (STL car) (ANT)

T4:

Ben Tash (Tezz) def. Doug Linn (The Deck)
Preston Cordy (Tezz) def. Kurt Marske (Painter)

T2:

Ben scoops to Preston.  Pretty easy split here since they came in the same car!   Very Happy

I will have a real report up at some point today with decklists and people's correct names!

I totally suck at life.  I just realized that the douche bag I drew with in round 3 played a Pact in Game 2 turn 1 on his way to fizzling after drawing enough cards to kill me three times over.  This might explain why he took 10 minutes to fizzle and tried half a dozen shady moves.  I lost focus and he was easily able to combo again on turn 2.

Moral of the story:  I really need to tighten up my play.

Ben Tash (Tezz) def. Michael Bolomoth (sp?) (Tezz)

Don't think I've ever seen my name butchered that badly.  It is Michael Bomholt.
