Really nice thread.

Has anyone considered Goblin Welder in this deck? Especially if your splashing red, he can be both defensive and offensive and occasionally beat for 1 dmg. It's like, if your Time Vault is killed you can bring it back, or you can destroy the opponent's Vault, etc. Just some added resilience to the whole Combo+Control posture.

I hope this doesn't sound too stupid but I have just now started studying Tezzeret deck.

I ran him at a recent tournament.  It was nice when I resolved him, but he was nothing special

De Mars basically outlined a very streamline version of a Jace control deck in one of his SCG articles. I've been running something similar, and have been quite happy with the results. It's much more resilient vs. Shops, and the draw suite is more reliable than Gush. The only real difference between the list he proposed and what I run is the two Vendellion Cliques in place of T-Seize/Duress. I like the added clock, and they tend to grab/bury something nice as they enter play. Between Cliques and Confidants, you can easily rack up some damage. Also, I'm not sold on the Thirst...that could easily be Fact-or-Fiction, but I hate the 4cc of that spell.

The only card I miss (primarily from my old Keeper list) is Deed. I don't think this deck needs it, but it's a great all-around sweeper.

UBG Vault Control

With Clique over Duress/Seize and only Mindbreak in the SB, do you ever feel weak to Ritual decks and the mirror?

How has LoA been?

I'm not sold on the Thirst

I've played without it and not missed it.  Still, if you're running 2x claim, regrowth, etc, I can see there being a lot of cards that aren't great early or in certain matchups that can be good fodder.

Clique has been nice as an added clock...and I've been able to yank key cards in the ritual deck/mirror matchup. However, I'll not disagree that it is a "win more" card. It's decent vs. Shops, takes out Jace, and adds some pressure to the mirror match. At times though, I feel this build suffers from hvaing too many win conditions.

LoA has always been amazing. The fact that Gush decks can't really support it has been a nice advantage. There are a quite a lot of waste/strips running around with the plethora of Shop decks, but between Confidant and Jace it's not hard to maximize LoA. In this build, I feel that it's an auto-include.

I'd love to make this deck better vs. Ritual decks...but what to cut? The Doomblades could perhaps become Duress/T-seize, or another Trap and a Deed.

Blightsteel Collosus - 12
Artifact Creature - Golemn
Trample, infect
Blightsteel Collosus is indestructible.
If Blightsteel Colossus would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, reveal Blightsteel Colossus and shuffle it into its owner's library instead.

One swing your dead.

Instead of the 1x Inkwell Leviathan ?

V. Thread Redundancy

Purpose:  Posts on the TMD forums are divided into threads to organize their content, and allow users to easily find specific kinds of information.  Posts which violate this rule include:

1.  "Thread Necromancy."  This means posting in a thread that has gone one month or more without any activity, unless there's an especially good reason.  Please start a new thread instead.

This thread has been locked as it had been dormant for over a year until yesterday. The new posts have been split into a new topic. Please continue the discussion there.
