I posted this in the other thread, but I'll post it here for good measure:

Reserved List

WotC expressed with FTV: Exiled that reserved cards would not appear in it, so presumably the same policy applies here with FTV: Relics.

Reserved Artifacts (credit to creepycrawly for figuring it out; I haven't checked the list for accuracy):

Acidic Dagger
Aegis of the Meek
Aeolipile
Al-abara's Carpet
Alchor's Tomb
Amulet of Quoz
Amulet of Unmaking
Anvil of Bogardan
Apocalypse Chime
Ashnod's Cylix
Balm of Restoration
Black Lotus
Bone Mask
Bösium Strip
Bubble Matrix
Candelabra of Tawnos
Chaos Orb
City in a Bottle
Conch Horn
Cursed Scroll
Cyclopean Tomb
Delif's Cube
Diamond Kaleidoscope
Didgeridoo
Draconian Cylix
Elven Lyre
Floodwater Dam
Forcefield
Forethought Amulet
Gauntlet of Might
Golgothian Sylex
Grim Monolith
Gustha's Scepter
Helm of Obedience
Ice Cauldron
Illusionary Mask
Implements of Sacrifice
Jester's Mask
Karn, Silver Golem
Knowledge Vault
Life Matrix
Lifeline
Lion's Eye Diamond
Lodestone Bauble
Mana Matrix
Mana Web
Mangara's Tome
Masticore
Memory Jar
Metalworker
Mightstone
Mirror Universe
Misers' Cage
Mox Diamond
Mox Emerald
Mox Jet
Mox Pearl
Mox Ruby
Mox Sapphire
North Star
Nova Pentacle
Null Rod
Paupers' Cage
Phyrexian Devourer
Phyrexian Dreadnought
Phyrexian Marauder
Phyrexian Portal
Planar Gate
Powder Keg
Pyramids
Razor Pendulum
Ring of Gix
Ring of Immortals
Ring of Ma'ruf
Ring of Renewal
Sandals of Abdallah
Sands of Time
Soldevi Digger
Soldevi Golem
Spirit Shield
Stone Calendar
Su-Chi
Sword of the Ages
Tawnos's Coffin
Teeka's Dragon
Temporal Aperture
Thran Tome
Time Vault
Triangle of War
Urza's Miter
Ventifact Bottle
Weakstone
Well of Knowledge
Xanthic Statue
Zelyon Sword

---------------

I know ELD's list was off the cuff, but from ELD's list, the following are reserved:

Karn, Silver Golem
Powder Keg
Masticore
Null Rod
Cursed Scroll

So, I don't think they will make an appearance, as cool as foil Null Rod would be.

Sol Ring
Chrome Mox
Voltaic Key
Mana Vault
Mana Crypt (A bit of a longshot)
Sphere of Resistance
Tangle Wire
Seat of the Synod
Nev's Disk
Ornithopter
Darksteel Colossus
Mindslaver
Grim Monolith
Juggernaut
Coat of Arms

Grim Monolith is reserved, though I hope it wouldn't make an appearance anyway.

My predictions, in no particular order:

Sol Ring
Nevinyrral's Disk (I think this is the preview art, not Sol Ring. Having the hand holding it up in the background is just so similar in style to the original.)
Tangle Wire
Coat of Arms
Arcbound Ravager
Juggernaut
Sphere of Resistance
Sundering Titan <new card>
Voltaic Key
Seat of the Synod
Mana Crypt
Ornithopter
Black Vise
Ankh of Mishra
Winter Orb

Edit: Oh, I forgot that there was a new card in there. Strike Titan, I guess

The promo pic is very clearly a sol ring.
Thus,

Sol Ring
Umezawa's Jitte/Sword of Fire and Ice/Loxodon Warhammer/Skullclamp. There will be one equipment, I hope for Jitte. Love that card.
Aether Vial
Voltaic Key
Chalice of the Void
Smokestax
Triskelion/ Ravanger/ Platinum Angel. At least one artifact creature
Tormod's Crypt
Pithing Needle
the new card they hinted at
Phyrexian Processor

I would bet money that it is a nev's disk.

1:1 Nevs disk
7:2 Sol Ring
20:1 any other artifact.

Takers?

Its a shame cursed scroll can't come back, that card is the bees knees.

Edit - And I think coat of arms is a definite due to casual appeal.  Which is gross.

I'll admit I thought Coat of Arms was amazing and really fun when it came out originally, so I can see why they would include it.

As far as reserved cards go, Yawgmoth's Will is on the list and yet they printed a foil promo of it...

Agree 100%. It's just that WotC specifically said that these sets are subject to the reserved list, right or wrong. They intend to adhere to it for FTV sets, at least for the foreseeable future.

I can't remember if I read that they had decided not to put any reserved cards in ftv: exiled because ftv: dragons did not.

The reprint policy says they can print premium foils (like they currently do with the judge rewards)

That doesn't stop them from putting Null Rod into ftv: relics

If not a ftv, then I suspect it will not be too long until they come up with a name of a new series.  They just released a "premium deck series", and the foil shards boosters are on the way.

Has anyone here played the Decipher Star Wars game?  Remember the "Enhanced Cloud City" packs that had a few boosters and a promo card on top?

There is no reason they couldn't make a $20 product with 3 boosters and 1 reprint card - such as Null Rod.

There are a lot of different ways they could release promos without them being judge rewards....its just a matter of time.

gah...now I want to bust out all my old Star Wars cards and play a game.....Any Methods Necessary!

All right I'll throw my two cents in.
At first I thought the art was Sol Ring, but Disk makes more sense, however, both will probably be in it, so:

Sol Ring (w/ new art)
Larry Nevin's Disk (new art)
The new card from "Lights"...
Aether Vial
Ornithopter (They have to throw in some crappy stuff or the set would be too good...)
Black Vise (new art)
Ivory Tower (new art) (they need both)
Smokestaxx
Mindslaver (new art)
Zuran Orb (new art)
Jester's Cap
Solemn Simulacrum (new art b/c the old one is terrible)
Millstone (new art)
Icy Manipulator (new art)
The "exclusive preview card"...

For my money, all the From the Vaults sets so far have been underwhelming. They usually have a couple of decently expensive cards and the rest are kind of janky. Sol Ring and Mindslaver will probably be this set's big draw unless they do something crazy like reprint Mana Crypt, but again, given how disappointing the other FtVs have been, I wouldn't be counting on that happening.

Pictured card: Nevinyrral's Disk (for the EDH/Cube/casual players)
Voltaic Key
Mana Vault
Mindslaver
Smokestack
Coat of Arms
{random new preview card from "Lights"}
Black Vise
AEther Vial
Solemn Simulacrum
Helm of Awakening
Relic of Progenitus
Mirari
Jester's Cap
1 of these money rares: Chalice of the Void/Crucible of Worlds/Engineered Explosives

Other logical possibilities:
Citanul Flute
Defense Grid
Phyrexian Processor
Goblin Charbelcher
Oblivion Stone

I am inclined to believe that the previewed artwork corresponds to Larry Niven's Disk.

Z Orb sounds like another artifact that might be in this package, as might be Icy Manipulator and perhaps Winter Orb. Cursed Scroll is also quite iconic, as well as Mindslaver.

I acquired the Exiled quite expensively, and frankly speaking I do not think that the contents are worth up the price of the package. if this The Relics package is released I hope it will not be as expensive as The Exiled....

The MSRP for all the FtV boxes is the same and is not too high, but the limited run coupled with the hype means that dealers are able to charge a lot. I'm not much into collecting "pimp" cards, but I was glad to get my hands on a couple nice cards with FtV that I would have had to acquire anyway through other means, mostly Balance, Berserk, Gifts, Tinker and Strip Mine.

Do we know for certain that all of the cards will be artifacts?  I can see where that would make sense as the words relic and artifacts are essentially synonyms, but I just wondered if anyone knows for sure.

Quote from: FTV: Relics announcement
From the Vault: Relics contains fifteen battle-tested artifacts...

So, it appears that all 15 cards are in fact artifacts.

Since Jitte is now a GP participation foil, that leaves Sword of Fire and Ice as arguably the best equipment not to have a promo version.  Does anyone think we'll see that in here?

Additionally, I think they could add in Sword of Light and Shadow, which is pretty high quality, and then have the preview card from the next expansion be a 'Sword of Earth and Stone' which would complete the trio (giving pro-Green and pro-Artifacts (you don't control)).  Protection from Artifacts (you don't control, since the equipment would fall off otherwise) could be huge in the next block, which is rumored to be an artifact heavy block.

Three pieces of equipment out of fifteen cards may be a bit high, but I don't think the EDH crowd would mind.  I know I'm definitely not getting any foil SOFIs until I hear for sure that it's not in FTV:Relics.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Has sword of the meek been done in a promo version? I'd argue that i gets to be one of the top 5 equipments of all time (Skullclamp taking first, jitte taking 2nd then there's sword of the meek and sword of fire/ice)

Karn, Silver Golem is a must at this point and it could not come at a better time....with the new Scars of Mirrodin set in the near future, I get the feeling Karn will return from the Blind Eternities as a Planeswalker card.

I'd say it's a near guarantee.  FTV: Dragons had Nicol Bolas just before he was printed as a PW in Alara Block.  I just wonder if the new Karn will be an artifact in addition to being a PW.  If he is, Tinker gets even more exciting as a spell.

I thought about that but it would also make it easier to remove with cards like Rebuild and Hurkyl's Recall. Not to mention Nature's Claim and Naturalize are type2 legal.

As far as Memory Jar goes and Mox Diamond, I am just hoping the art stays the same. IMHO After what they did to chrome mox and Voltaic key, I would not want new art for Mox Diamond.

I believe Karn ceased being an artifact when he ascended, storyline-wise, just as regular humans cease to be humans except perhaps in form.  Precedent-wise, Nicol Bolas does not have the dragon type.
