I'll be in Columbus that weekend anyway.  I'm going to see if I can swing this.  It's a longshot, but I'd love to at least drop by.

Yea, just noticed that also steve.  Not sure I will be able to make this one, father's day and all.  I think that might hurt your attendance a little.

Hey folks -- just a reminder to book your calendars!

This tournament is shaping up to be an awesome event.   We have people coming from all over the state, and we'll have a great field.   Let's see if we can finally cross the 33 player threshold!

tournament attendance was depressed by the holiday, but everyone here had a great time.

I beat Rich Shay in the finals (Meandeck MUD over TPS), after Rich beat my teammate Paul Mastriano!   It was our first rematch since 2007 Vintage Champs finals!

This was my invasion of the Meandeck Open, and I had a blast. I played Storm Combo. After spending most of yesterday trying to decide what to play, Brad saying the deck was good was enough for me to give it a try.

It was great to see everyone again, and I hope next time I'll be able to stay later and hang out a bit more.

That MUD list is absolutely perfect.  I'll be using it to test my deck vs.

Rich, did Jace, Slight, or Impulse Disapoint you at all and did you wish any of them were Jar, Tinker, or Fof?

Edit:  The MUD list has 16 cards in the SB.  My guess is there was one Razormane in the main and only 1 in the Side?

It is an amazing MUD list.  I've been working on MUD intensively for the last couple of weeks, playing with various permutations.  I haven't had this much fun tuning a deck in a long while.    It sorta reminded me of the days of old.   I developed three different lists: a 1) Smokestack list, 2) a Metalworker/SOFI more traditional list, and 3) the Null Rod list.   I felt these were the three major approaches to the archertype.  The Null Rod/Juggernaut/Sculpting Steel list was the version that had the strongest synergies, I felt.   Sculpting Steel is such an unbelievable beating right now.   The only card that's iffy is the Mana Vault, which I've been thinking about cutting for another beater (2nd Masticore or even a Su-Chi) or the 4th Sculpting Steel.   Let me know what you find out.

The sideboard only has 2 Crucibles.   Whoops.   The deck is also strong against most Workshop variants (even those with Welder, which can be answered with Pithing Needle).   My bigger concern is making sure that I annihilate Fish decks with beatsticks.   Masticore is one of the best answers to Trygon Predator, too.

BTW, I posted Paul's decklist.  Top 4 is there now.

So you found that Black Lotus is worth running?  Wink

Paul's list misses 2 cards btw.

Juggs has better synergy with the Null Rods than Triskelion does.

With a Null Rod out, I'd rather pay 4 mana for a 5/3, than pay 6 mana for a 4/4.

It's a nice list, for sure.
