Currently only one effect produces an emblem in magic: original Elspeth's "Ultimate" ability.

Will we see more emblems in the future (yes, as the article linked above teases future planeswalkers with emblem creating abilities)?  What about outside of planeswalkers?

Premonition - U
Sorcery
You get an emblem with "You may look at the top card of your library."

Having emblems be linked to Planeswalkers makes sense for now, because the planeswalker uniqueness rule and their fragility limit how often one could activate Elspeth's ultimate anyway, whereas the second copy of an emblematic spell is usually useless (as with the above), though not always:

Raw Emotion - 1GG
Sorcery
You get an emblem with "If a creature you control would deal damage, it deals twice that amount of damage instead."

(I don't know if the above is correctly worded to compound with multiples, as I intend it to, but I assume it could be done.)

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

It's not just an astrological sign anymore.

This is an absurdly cool idea.  I think the second card is more of a red effect.

Also, I doubt sorceries which make emblems will be too overpowered because there is nothing you can do about them.  The power creep for this mechanic is just bonkers.

Also, the first one is undercosted, but more importantly, absurdly annoying to the other players.  It is always hard to keep the card you can always look at confused with the ones in your hand.

Emblems have the unique function of solving a very particular kind of design problem.  The only current example serves as a reminder that an event has occurred that isn't attached to any permanent.  Moreover, the effect it creates fundamentally alters the nature of the game in a profound way.  Both the effects you suggest would be well at home as Enchantments, so I don't see why using Emblems for them is especially desirable.

Here's a bad example of something that might call for an Emblem, although even here I'm not sold on it:

Elemental of Paradise
2G
When Elemental of Paradise is put into a graveyard from play, you get an Emblem with "Lands you control have "Tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.""

Raw Emotion is an amazing effect and costing it at 1RR is way too little IMO.  Keldon Marauders deals 10 damage under Raw Emotion, 4 of which is non-combat?  So what, Sligh just gets to topdeck now?  Nice :)

Especially since emblems are this new thing that can't really be fucked with, sort like Planeswalkers wherein usually you have to beat them by using the rules of the game instead of actual cards outside of Vindicate or O-Ring.

It's true that there's a lot of overlap between Enchantments and emblems; I don't think the purpose of emblems is to be seen explicitly on cards that produce them, but to allow your creatures/planeswalkers to sort of "cast their own enchantments".  That's probably why Elspeth is the one card in the game that makes emblems right now, she creates a hanging effect - she casts her own spell on you.
