Goddamn. I was thinking the exact same one.

I remember the dude you're talking about, he goes by the name Enigma (read about him in other places too). I also remember hearing that in the "Scully eats a cricket" scene, she was supposed to actually palm it, but couldn't pull it off and eventually just ate the damn thing instead.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.

obviously the greatest episode is the one with Jack Black and the Kid that can control electricity.

Other good ones are eve 6, flukeman, and the one where electronic displays keep telling everybody to kill each other.

Me too.  I've been making the woman watch X-Files, various episodes from seasons 1-6.  I don't let her watch mythology episodes, though, because I don't want her to have to watch all that.

I used to be a big X-Phile, so watching them from 10-15 years distance from when I first watched them has been interesting.

Incidentally I got addicted to both Magic and X-Files the same year that both were born.

Here are my favorite episodes:

Season One:

* Beyond the Sea from the first season is by far the best episode of that season, and one of the few Season One episodes that are as good as seasons 2-6 episodes.   This is the Silence of the Lambs episode.

Season Two:

* The Host is a good one to have a friend watch, although this episide is only half an episode because of the all the bullshit about closing the x-files. They'll never forget this episode.  This is the flukeman episode.

* Die Hand Die Verletz is probably my favorite episode from Season 2.   It's awesome.  The opening sequence too is probably my favorite from any episode.   This is the episode about a town of satanists, who are basically like christian conservatives.

* Irresistible is another great season two episode: LOL Donny Pfaster.   He's this creepy dude who likes to kill women for their hair and nails.

* Humbug was the carney episode, and it was great.   Another memorable one.   Brassman already mentioned this one.

Season 3:

* Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose: Another awesome one.

* Jose Chung's from Outer Space.  Hilarious.

Season 4:
* One of my top 5 favorite episodes is HOME, which was banned from TV because of an abortion scene.   This is probably the most memorable X-File, after the Host.

* Small Potatoes.   Another great one, funny.  Have your girlfriend or wife watch this one.

* Unrequited  About Vietnam

* Elegy.   A great one to watch with a girlfriend.  This is about an autistic dude who works at a bowling alley who has premonitions about murders.

Season 5:

* Post-Modern Promethous.  About a dude with elephant man's disease.

* Bad Blood.   Another funny and good one about vampires.

* All Soul's.  This one is actually my favorite opening sequence.   It's just gorgeous.   THis is about a severely disabled girl who is killed, and the discovery that she has three sisters who are also being hunted.

Season 6:

Season four is often regarded as the best season, but I actually think season 6 may be the best season.   At least 80% of the episode are excellent.

* Drive -- the Speed Episode.  Great one to watch with the kids or the whole family.

* How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, the episode that got my GF hooked.    It's really a head game.

* Terms of Endearment -- about a demon trying to impregnate women to have a normal child.   Hilarious.

* The Rain King.  I love it.   This is about a white trash dude who has a gift for manipulating the weather

* Arcadia.  Hilarious.  Mocking suburban life.  Mulder and Scully move into a suburban area with a ridiculous code of rules.

* Milaggro - great episode, esp. for women.  This is about a writer who moves next to Mulder, and writes about Scully.

* The Unnatural - a great negro leagues baseball player is an alien.

* Field Trip -- One of my favorites!   I don't want to spoil anything about this.  Just watch it!

I can't recommend any episodes after season 6.

For pure comedy value, the episode about the alien cockroaches is gold.

Scully acts kind of jealous towards Mulder flirting with the female scientist.

Scully:  "Her name is Bambi?"

Sooooo good.

Home was also ridiculous, which Stephen mentioned

I also remember really enjoying an episode about a magician who decapitated himself as part of his act

Personaly I love the mythology. Every episode where The Lone Gunmen made an appearance, those guys are funny. My all time favorite though used to be Kaddish, where as a kid I first got curious about golems, plus reminded me a bit of the Frankenstein monster. Later finding out the only golem worth playing in magic was Karn. I thought Clyde Bruckman's Final Response was hillarious and entertaining through and through. [/quote] got me parranoid as a kid wondering if the government would do the same to the masses, sending unnoticable signals through our programing to manipulate our behavior..now with the switchover from analog to digital, I know they do  Wink

I enjoyed this episode because it made my wife unconfertable with all the roaches Very Happy not to mention Bambi...Scully and my wife reactions were almost identicle.

I can't remember the names of the episodes to be honest, and since i don't want to spend 30 minuttes on wiki to find out i might just name a few or describe a few.

The 2 Tooms episodes...I was laughing so hard when he said "Do you think you'll manage to squeeze in?"...Also the look in his eye at the end of the first episode...Priceless.

There's an episode in the first season about pyrokinesis. I loved that one.

I like alot of the plot episodes actually, mostly because cancerman is one of the coolest characters i've ever seen. One of my favorites is Piper Maru.

In the last couple of seasons there are only 2 episodes that i like - The one with the Lucky guy, and the djinn episode, both are hilarious.

I'm sure i missed alot, since it's been a while since i've watched it. I liked most of it to be honest.

"Home" was crazy when I first saw it as a kid.  It caused quite a stir and wasn't show in re-runs for some time.

I occanionally watched this when it aired in Germany, but I have never seem it regularly enough. I am interested in mostly the plot-part of the series - do you think it is worth to watch it all just for that?
