Agreed, he looks terrible.  Worse than Platinum Angel.

Alteady practically obsolete by hellkite

Yep.  I'm actually thinking Hellkite might even be the best Tinker target.

It's too small and easy to kill.

My rationale is that 1 swing destroying a bunch of permanents is worth being slower by a turn.

Plus being easier to kill is fairly irrelevant because none of them are particularly hard.  Of course Inkwell is still strong due to beating Jace, but beyond that he looks pretty strong.

I preordered ny hellkites and I think he is good, but I like him or his castability instead of as the tinker target.  6 colorless is actually achievable for nearly all vintage decks....8+ is really not.  I would rather tinker a colossus than hellkite.

I preordered Hellkites too. He should be tested both in shop shells as a multiple and as a tinker target imo. I doubt the fact that he's removed easily matters, since plenty of decks use Hurkyll's Recall to dodge tinker beats. This guy is actually hardcastable after getting bounced while the other tinker targets are not. Still I think the fact that Sphinx dodges ancient grudge is more relevant.

Remember with the new Tinker Bot (5 mana 3/5 tinker guy) you can always get your Dragon EOT, negating the 1 turn to blow up the board.  Tinker Bot + Dragon + Titan = lots of nevy's disk/armegeddon affects.  Not a bad combo IMO.

I agree with everything Bruizar said except 1 thing....
In a format where Everyone is playing Tarmogoyf (Fish, Drain, aggro, Aggro control) because of MUD, i think that deathtouch, at least on the 3/3 token, is huge.

On a side note, this card it nuuuuuuts in any welder stax build.
