Is there a date in the near future where I could buy this at a bookstore? I am a Barnes and Noble member.

The paperback was printed to order.   We only have a few copies left, so I doubt it.

It's pretty cool looking, and reminds me of the cool books from Vintage early history, except with much more sophisticated understanding of the game, and opening hand shots.  I wonder how people like it the book in paperback form, those of you who got your copy in the mail?  Is it fun to read?

I find myself flipping through it, and had to put it on the shelf!

Yeah; I own the first MTG The Puzzling Book, and it's a total blast to read and reread.   I'm having the same experience with my Gush book :p.

In fact, last night I put the Understanding Gush book right next to Magic: The Puzzling on my shelf, and the books actually look great together. LOL.

I've been told by Doug that there aren't many hard copies left.  And once its sold out, I'm doubtful that QS will order more.  FYI because I am not sure we'll have any left by the time Gencon arrives.

Stephe, you guys could put it up on http://www.lulu.com/ and people could order hard copies any time they wanted indefinately.  I've used Lulu for books I've published.  They're a reliable company.  QS might want to check them out.

Peace,

I finished reading the paperback(Great by the way) and realized that you mentioned an Appendix B: Gush Storm vs. Jace control in page 105 but you only included Appendix A.
What happened?

Heh heh heh.   You are the first person to point this out.

I originally outlined two appendix samples games, but only the first one was completed and made it into the second edition of the book.   Now that I'm looking for it, I can't find the sample game that I had chosen for the Gush Storm v. Jace Control game, but I remember it being a great one.  I can't find my notes on this game anywhere! As we were moving towards production of the paperback, I only had time to produce the first Appendix, and through the many production delays, I had forgotten completely about the other game.

If future editions of the book are created (and I anticipate that we will -- depending on changes in technology and the card pool), there will be more appendices added over time.   Each appendix will be used to add more sample games.

The structure of the book is good, but the one thing I think it could use is even MORE examples and sample games.   The examples within the book are great and numerous, but you can't really have too many.   Glad you enjoyed it Smile   When people see the book, they'll realize how much it offers!
