Steve - Thanks for putting this event on as always. Good times were had by all.
I walked from this event knowing that... 1. Phyrexian Revoker is a huuuuge tempo card. 2. Tezzeret, AoB is also insane at 4 manas. 3. BSC should be wearing a crown, have minions that fluff his pillow at night, and maybe even a tiny person wielding a kazoo

Now that I think of it, I hope City in a Bottle doesn't catch on, because if I decide to run R/G Beats again I will have to use fugly white-bordered Kird Apes! Also Ed Carey would be devastated if he ends up having to cut his Arabian Nights Mountains from his Shop deck!
Clearly, Wizards R&D circa 1993* realized the power of City in a Bottle fairly quickly, as the Antiquities-hoser Golgothian Sylex is terrible! Dreams of boarding them against Shops were quickly dashed.
* I believe it consisted of three UPenn graduate students, a dartboard, a Kennedy half-dollar, a gyro platter from The Greek Lady (damn they're good!), and a bottle of Jack.

We'd like to put up a Mox Jet and a Time Walk for the next one of these. In addition, we can put up CE power, dual lands, Grim Tutors, etc. We are also looking into possible larger locations.
What does everyone think of that? What would be a fair entry fee? Would April 17th be a good date?

I found the lack of Trinisphere in the 3rd and 5th place MUD lists interesting.
Either pilot (Nam Tran and Jason Pare, respectively) want to comment on their reasoning in leaving it out?

After playing a nearly identical mirror with Jerry about a month ago, I'm glad to see the deck doing well here.

I like the deck in 4th place, very cool. If Korey posts here, I would love to hear some things about his experiences with the style of deck.

Awesome tournament as always. I was glad I was able to make it out. It felt good to play with some power 9 after a while of playing standard. Hopefully I can try and make the next tournament! I found the lack of Trinisphere in the 3rd and 5th place MUD lists interesting.

I don't think you need to run Trinisphere if you are already running 4 Thorn and 4 SoR. Having two 2spheres out usually makes Trinisphere redundant and/or irrelevant.

Agree with Nam on this one, I didn't play it for the same reason. Turn one is obviously still backbreaking but it's often a dead draw after that if your deck is working the way it should.

It's so good to see many of my friends from Kentucky place in the top 8 there. That's really awesome!

Indeed, looks very interesting. At first sight I would replace the lone Trinket Mage with Thirst for Knowledge... But maybe I shouldn't and at least try the deck first! Robrecht

Robrecht I have been playing something very similar since before the prerelease, and Trinket Mage is a beast. I am def interested in the number of Seat of the Synod in his list. I play one, but 4 seems risky, and hearing from dude might provide some insight. I also like the preordains as well.
