This just looks like a gorilla shaman for planeswalkers.  Its other applications are "cute" but I don't see it being any better than Contagion Clasp was supposed to be.

after reading the LCV 2011 April tourney report & seeing that remora gush took the top spot, that got me to thinking about hex parasite.  could you not use its ability to keep removing the age counters off mystic remora to keep it online longer?

yes it works amazingly well with mystic remora.  I think this card can help introduce a new archetype into vintage.

Uhm I don't see how it works well with Remora?

At the beginning of your upkeep add a counter to Remora, pay the upkeep, later in your turn pay 1+(1 or 2 life) to remove that counter?

EoT remove counters?  Seems like a fun altplan.

And then in upkeep add a new counter and pay 1. Doesn't seem all that fun.

The interaction effectively fixes remora to a static upkeep cost of 2{pb} while Hex is in play, and makes Hex a 2/1 each turn. Seems fine for control mirror. I think the bigger question is how Hex stands against MUD, which doesn't seem great. He really only handles a slow, tangle-wire heavy draw. He does help with Chalice somewhat, but doesn't deal with their actual threats.

I tried a Remora, Hex Parasite, Death's Shadow UB List the problem is that the black critter has not any evading ability.
I'm not a good deckbuilder but maybe someone could make it work.
VS MUD it's not useless at all, it's a permanent, it kills wires, smokestacks and chalices.

If Hex Parasites cost had been Phyrexia Mana only for the removal of counters this card would be playable. Then you have a 2CMC card that kills their stuff end of their turn so its usefulness is much greater and fulfills Vampire Hexmage's role of removing Dark Depths a little bit easier if you want to pay 2 mana to remove one counter first.
