At the beginning of your end step, draw seven cards.
Each opponent's maximum hand size is reduced by seven.
5/4

This guy essentially puts your opponent on a 1 turn clock much like Blightsteel Colossus since the probability of coming back from having your entire grip continually mind twisted is close to zip (unless you're dredge).  However, unlike the Colossus, this guy actually lets you sculpt your hand the very same turn he comes down to ensure he sticks.  In addition, a pair of Gaea's blessings Emrakul can be used to recycle your library so that Jin doesn't become a liability if your opponent has a good board position.  You could, alternatively, back him up with a Tyrant which really cinches down the lock.

Why not oath-up emrakul or blightsteel colossus and win the game instead? Jin would die to rg beats, Goblins, tarmogoyf and the like too.

Sorry, I meant Blightsteel not Darksteel.  In either case, both cards you mentioned allow your opponent to untap and take a full turn before they come online.  Jin is immune to sorceries and forces the opponent to deal with him on your turn before he turns into slightly more than a double Ancestral.   I don't know how much of a difference that will make, you could certainly whiff on the 7 cards you draw. On a side note, he actually synergizes pretty well with Emrakul.

I think his biggest benefit is that he has a devastating effect against most decks and he protects himself by accelerating you into counters that are useful in any other situation; he doesn't require the addition of otherwise dead cards to get there which frees up slots to play even more counters which has a positive feedback on his card drawing effect.

He also dies to every removal there is, including burn and REB. Drawing 7 means you might also draw your other Oath creature, at this point, you should be able to protect him, but if your opponent has a decent board, you might be screwed.

Makes me think if he could have a use in a EDH deck. 10 mana is still quite hard to do for a win more effect.

Nah, not for Oath.  I wouldn't mind this as a Dread Return target though..... Dredge 7 (eot, however) and the potential to kill an opponents hand seems like a nice double duty.

Maybe Dragon?  Even Reanimator getting this guy t1 or t2 seems pretty bonkers to me.  Those decks wouldn't mind discarding things anyway.

Call me crazy but this could make reanimator viable in vintage. It turns instant speed bounce into permanent destruction. It protects itself as well as iona only instead of being dead against shops it is a house. Also it is blue, always a plus for a card that would otherwise be dead in hand. I like it a lot.

And aggro decks, which it is terribly weak against, are not very viable.
