Maddock Feeg                 {W} {G} {U}

You may pay 1 life and exile a green or white creature card from your hand rather than pay Maddock Feeg’s mana cost.

Counter target non-creature spell.

Shhhhh, it will be all right.

Some days I wonder if Guli is T00l or brassman trolling.

This is wrong with the color-pie on so many levels.

Might work better by forcing you to put a creature from your hand under opponent's control, and even there it's still very iffy.

Im sure you do, people recognize in others what they do themselves.

Ok then white creature and make it  {U} {U} {W}? White has gotten counter spells! Would that be more acceptable?

As far as I know, white has only gotten 1 counterspell so far, Illumination.

And white is not the color associated with creatures. I don't think you can make this idea viable.

I never heard that before. Is it a real saying or did you just make it up? If you made it up, does it mean that I also like to make things up since I recognized it? Because I totally do that Smile

No.

Here's why this is a problem, since you clearly don't understand. This is a cheap, efficent, and broad counterspell that is not blue. That flies in the face of the color pie.

White has indeed had counterspells. Pretty much all of them have cost {U} or sucked ass (generally by being extremely narrow). Can you name a single monowhite counterspell that's even half as good as this?

Not remembering every single crappy counter ever printed doesn't make one bad at Magic.

Also, Absorb is not just "White", it is "Blue-White". That difference means worlds.

Edit: Fixed quote tags.

Dawn Charm
Lapse of Certainty
Mana Tithe
Rebuff the Wicked

The only sorta ok one is Mana Tithe.  I've run that in an aggro deck before, and its benefit comes because it takes the opponent completely by suprirse.

Yeah.

I figured being mostly useless after the first few turns qualifies as "narrow".

You might be able to get away with it if it says, that targets you or a permanent you control".

And even then, it's iffy.

Adding that clause makes it fine in my book. It also probably weakens it to the point of no longer accomplishing what the OP intended.
