Do we know if Shay won? Menendian vs. Shay would be great to watch.

Really?  I heard Mastriano beat him.   No matter what, a Blue Bell regular is in the finals, and 1/2 of Vintage Champs top 8 came from Blue Bell regulars.  Awesome stuff!

If Mark can get through Glackin, then Dredge has a terrific chance of winning Vintage Champs... however, Cat Stax is not an easy match-up.

Paul wins, w/ Tinker into BSC in game 3.

Dredge vs Gush Bob in Finals

Update #1: Mark (Dredge) wins game one.  (no surprise there)

Update #2: Paul (Gush) wins game two, opening with LotV and Pithing Needle on turn 1.

Update #3: Mark (Dredge) wins after topdecking CoV the turn after Paul Tinkers for BSC then winning off 2 Nature's Claims on LotV and Needle!

Top deck chain for the win....but then again this game does involve some luck. Congrats to Mark and Paul, and the rest of the top 8 for that matter. Huge props for half of the top 8 being players that regularly play at blue bell events!!!

Blue Bell really represented at this one.  Five out of Eight being regulars at Blue Bell, are you kidding?

In all seriousness, I don't think I have ever in my life been so happy to see someone who isn't me win a tournament.  Way to go, Mark!

Exciting stuff!  Props to Blue Bell that appears to be the  new center of American type 1. Very curious to see the deck lists. Bob gush?  I always suicided when I tried it I am curious how they kept themselves alive through the tournament.

This was a fantastic top 8.  Big congrats to Mark for proving (yet again, but will we learn the lesson this time?) that Dredge is one of a very short list of Tier One vintage decks. Congratulations as well to everyone I was rooting for in the top 8 - which was... well... everyone!  Really an impressive showing from eight impressive players, live it up tonight guys!

Most of team NY wasn't even there, so you know we'll be happy to make sure you guys don't take 5/8ths of the top 8 again,  Wink

What organization actually ran these events?  Was it WotC themselves or Pasttimes?

I'm not sure - I'd love to see some more missed Narco triggers and horribly unorganized Dredge play.

First of all, congrats to Mark for being a goddamned champion!  2nd, great job to all of the guys who made top 8, especially the six of you that I know!

A minor correction, I had to play the last round and was 7-1 going into the top 8.

Pastimes was responsible for running the event. They did a good job, with the frustrating exception of changing where they posted pairings every other round, without telling anyone.

And i need to practice my die rolling skills, I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME HOORRNNUUNNGG!!!
