Painter/Grindstone

Hey just getting back into vintage again went through a hard time in my life and just trying to stay positive i got a deck i been working on and i think it has potential.
The decks combo is very easy to pull off with 6 tutors in the deck. I included a decent bounce package and i feel with back to basics and meek stone i could stall if i have to. I choose back to basics because i feel that stacks and fish decks rely on their mana base and living in a land without fear of wasteland is clutch in my opinion. i like running 1 main needle just so i have the chance of defeating dredge game 1. any help would be great thanks.

Rob, it's really good to see you on TMD. 

Josh Meckes ran some really tight U/B/R Painter/Grindstone lists.  If you were looking for a good place to start, I'd definitely talk to Raf or Vin. 

I know that the black that he ran was a very small splash for Vamp, DT and Will.  He was running maindeck Ancient Tombs, which were great at accelerating into a cheap win.

Given the state of things, I'd probably cut the Pithing Needle for a graveyard hate effect (Tormod's Crypt, Nihil Spellbomb, etc.)  I'd also probably cut the Back to Basics - between artifact mana, fetches and the basics that people run, I don't think that you're going to get the effect that you want from it. 

Still, to repeat myself, great to see you around.  If you're free Sunday you should come by Depot to hang out, talk and get some side games in should you not want to play in the LoA tournament at noon.
