I hate the name too.

3/3

A cycle of them with increasing costs, powers, and evasion can be created.

Maybe "Embittered Zealot" or "Disillusioned Zealot" instead? Or maybe something along the lines of "Awakened Dreamer"... I imagine the card representing a guy who dedicated his life to a cause then came to realize he'd been wasting his time. That sound roughly like what you had in mind?

{B} might be too good for 3/3. I think it'd probably be strong but reasonable at 3/2 or 3/1.

Sounds like potentially fun times with False Cure. Maybe throw in Unspeakable Symbol/Flesh Reaver... Man, I loves me my janky combos.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.

I think a 3/3 with a drawback in Black is fine.  You could maybe even push it to 4/2 for B, with that drawback.

When have they ever printed a 3/3 or better for {B}? Don't say Death's Shadow, it's a -7/-7 for {B}.

Well if it's just going to your opponent, then 5/5 is fine by me even without the lifegain drawback.

Well, when have they printed a creature with this drawback, too? There's not really a precedent for one, so why expect it for the other? But as far as I'm concerned, if you feel like 3/2 is more balanced, then fine.

Whatever this card p/t is, it really needs "Cannot block" to make it more balanced. This card is made to bash face, and the drawback shouldn't be countered by you just holding back with a 3/3 so you don't give your opp life.

That's a good point. As originally proposed, this is a hugely improved version of Cinder Wall.
