Hi all!

Every week, I'm going to start a 8-player single elimination bracket.  Rules are very similar to the TMD online invitational:
1. Games are played publicly on Cockatrice
2. Players have at most a week to complete each match.
3a. Lists are PMed to a party not in the tourney by at most two days after registration closes.
3b. Lists will be posted after all round 1 matches are complete.
4. Prize is the opportunity to play a featured match against a well-recognized member of the Vintage community.  (Volunteers?)
5. Drops after the bracket is drawn are final.  Nobody can fill that slot.
6. Brackets will be fully randomized.  There will be no preference or "seeds" of any kind.

***Signup for this tourney closes Dec 19th at midnight CST.  Experience says that it will probably close by tomorrow morning.  Get in early!
Registration will be closed due once we have 8 people.

Players signed up as of last update:
1. AmbivalentDuck
2. Ruboonia
3. Nataz
4. Commandant
5. The Noble
6. Yukon Cornelius
7. Cruel Ultimatum

First matches must be complete by Dec 26th: one week from the close of signup.  If all matches complete before then, the next set will be due within a week, and so on.

Cruel Ultimatum was on 2/1s + good stuff.  I was on Doomsday (same list as last week).  I got the nuts game 1, he gets the nuts game 2.  Game 3, I open with Xantid Swarm and he opens with BSC.  In this very interactive game, I fail to topdeck a Lotus on turn 2 and he wins.

Doh.  I'm seeing a pattern here.

In all honesty, my hand game 3 was very good. If you replaced tinker with something else, I would still feel fairly confidant in my chances.

Unfortunately I'm not going to have time to compete in this, my opponent can move on.

Bracket updated now that I'm home from a holiday vacation.  It looks like we need results from Nataz and The Noble.

Unfortunately, it seems that they both forfeit?

I think I'm forced to do it this way just for precedent Sad

Since these are weekly affairs, it's more important to keep them moving along than to play any single match?

My bad, I thought I could get the game in early that week before I moved, but I didn't, and then It took until today to get internet in the new apartment.

Apologies, should have posted earlier.

I played dredge and got smoked by Yukon. Game one first turn Leyline FTL. Second game I probably could have pulled it off, but I made some play mistakes. She also got a First turn Leyline in this game and backed it up with a Wasteland.

Doesn't matter to me. I thought I remembered reading something about Brassman gifts mirror, but I don't see it, may have been making it up.

Brassman has agreed to play the classic Gifts mirror, but says he's a bit out of practice with it.  Personally, I think everyone is out of practice.

Considering the fact that I did not play vintage when gifts was unrestricted, I am going to say he is a little more in practice then I am.

Have you contacted him to arrange to play?
