The details have been set!

Here’s everything:

When:

Saturday, February 18th, 2012
Registration will begin at 12:00 PM
First round will begin promptly at 1:00 PM

What:

$30, 10 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament.  Up to five additional proxies can be bought for $1 each.  Deck registration sheets will be in use. First place prize is guaranteed.

The prize structure will be as follows:

1st: Unlimited Time Walk
2nd: 2x Italian Mana Drain
3rd/4th: $60 dealer credit
5th/8th: $30 dealer credit
9th: Mystery Prize, to be autographed by the top 8

1st place prize is guaranteed, regardless of attendance.  The 2nd-8th place prizes are guaranteed at 41 entrants.  The Time Walk that is being given out is the nicest Unlimited Time Walk that I have ever seen.  It’s grade-able.

As always, prizes will be scaled up with attendance.

Side Events:

Eight man, single elimination, side events will be available throughout the day. Signups for the first event will begin after round four of the main event. Entry fee is $12, with a blue dual land (probably a Tropical Island) being given to first!

Where:

Brothers Grim Games & Collectibles
1244 Middle Country Road
Selden, N.Y.
11784
(631) 698-2805
brothersgrimgames@gmail.com

Store website:

http://brgrim.com/index.htm

This event will also feature dealer extraordinaire Nick Coss.  Nick has an awesome collection of staples across all formats; the credit that will be given out for 2nd-8th will be with him, not the store.

This is going to be part of another Magic weekend at Brothers Grim.  There will be a Standard tournament (with sweet prize support – most likely chase foil rares from the set coming out at the end of this month) held on Saturday, as well as an EDH tournament on Sunday and either a Legacy or Modern event held on Sunday.  More details on those tournaments will be posted after this weekend’s event (confirmation of Legacy/Modern for 2/19 will come after this Sunday’s tournament.)

So, that’s that.  I hope to see you all there!

If anybody's interested there is also going to be Standard for boxes ($15 entry, 10 reg, 11 start) on Saturday, Modern for boxes ($15 entry, 10 reg, 11 start) and EDH *(1 pack per person eliminated, plus additional prize packs, $10 entry, 12 reg, 1 start) on Sunday.

Sorry, counselor, but after the last showing that we had for Legacy I'm not comfortable taking another hit like that.  I'm going to look to do something for Legacy at the events, but it's probably going to be a side event for a box, or something like that.

This event is only a few days away!  Who's coming and who's winning?

I reached out to Coss, hopefully there's room on the Coss bus.

Are we going to have Wi-Fi tomorrow at Brothers Grim? I'd love to be able to stream the Vintage feature matches again like we did last week at the Grudge Match.

As much as I would love wi-fi, I'm pretty sure that the answer to this is 'no'.  I'm going to call Dave/Frank tonight to see if anything can be done about this.  Having the matches go up immediately is infinitely better.

You've done great work, thank you, Rich.

If it needs to be paid for, I will chip in. I may not be playing Vintage tomorrow, but I know how important it is.
