All proxies must follow these guidelines:

Please do not use the back of a magic card for a proxie!

There are two types of acceptable proxies. The first and most basic is taking a basic land card and writing the details of the card on it. The second method is to take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics.

All proxies must have the following text neatly printed, using a extra fine point sharpie. Ball point pens may not be used:
• The full name of the card (no abbreviations or nicknames)
• Correct casting cost of the card including all colored mana symbols
• All relevant/game effecting text

When choosing what card to use as the base for an erased proxy players must follow these rules:
• The mana cost of the base spell must be the same as the card being proxied.
• The type of the card being proxied must be the same as the base card.
• The P/T of a creature being proxied must be the same as the base creature P/T
• When proxying a creature it may be difficult to find a creature where all characteristics match. In this case, mana cost is the most important, followed by the P/T, followed by the subtype. Any characteristics that do not match must be erased and corrected.
• The art box, card name, and text box must be totally erased. White out may not be used for this as it affects the stiffness of the card and may mark it.
• When adding text to the card do not use a ball point pen. A extra fine point sharpie is the best thing to use. A ball point pen can cause indentations on the card marking it.
• For clarity reasons, the use of cards with the new card frame is strongly encouraged

BAOM! That's right Chi Town, we got some Clevelanders coming up to drop bombs in the Extreme dojo.

LHC got so excited when he got word that Cleveland's coming up to hang out he started tackling little kids in the head.

EDIT: I just sniped some footy of Yangtime and LHC when they met for the first time.

It's like those two were made for Meandeck.

I don't see nearly enough trash talk in this thread. Clevelanders are coming up which can mean only two things: a great time had by all and Twaun in the casual bracket before the matches even start.

I find it fitting that someone might come out of retirement for this event Because I'm going to be putting two people into retirement.... Mainly CJster and JR Bueller Goldmanberghstien III.

I see your new employment at the tanning salon has been paying off.

Just to give a quick recap of my matches:

I ended up going 3-2 missing top 8 just slightly coming in 10th out of 24ish.

I played Demon Oath:
LAND
4 Forbidden Orchard
4 Misty Rainforest
2 Tropical Island
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Underground Sea
1 Island
1 Forest

ARTIFACTS
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Emerald
1 Time Vault
1 Sol Ring
1 Voltaic Key
1 Sensei's Divining Top

INSTANTS
4 Force of Will
3 Mana Drain
2 Flusterstorm
4 Mental Misstep
1 Brainstorm
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Hurkyl's Recall

SORCERIES
1 Time Walk
2 Preordain
1 Ponder
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Gaea's Blessing

ENCHANTMENTS
4 Oath of Druids

CREATURES
3 Rune-Scarred Demon

PLANESWALKERS
2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor

SIDEBOARD
3 Yixlid Jailer
4 Leyline of the Void
3 Nature's Claim
3 Surgical Extraction
1 Massacre
1 Pithing Needle

First match was against Dredge. Game one he couldn't get a good opening hand and Mulligan down to 4ish. Couldn't get a Bazaar out so I was able to win pretty quickly. Second game I didn't know what he was playing yet so I didn't sideboard in anything and got smashed as Dredge should do game 1. Game 3 I side boarded in the hate and dropped a Leyline turn 0 and a Yixlid turn 1 with the help of a Mox. I was able to take the match with all the hate out.

Second match again was against dredge but this time I couldn't get anything going; couldn't get a decent opening hand and never drew what I needed. I may have one one game, but either way I get beaten this match.

Third match was a feature match for me against Workshop. I'll let you watch the video for details for my misplays and taking too long on deciding what to do with a lotus lol, but in the end I was able to take the match in game three. Very cool match for me and I learned a lot. Our names are wrong in the title but here is the video for those bored at work like me. http://www.twitch.tv/xtremegamesonline/b/309123301

Fourth match was against another Oath, but a hybrid version with a little of everything that Oath decks tend to run. His deck was just faster than mine and he played it better and beat me quite handily. Learned a lot though.

Fifth match was against Gush and in the third game I was able to win, but did get lucky from my opponent's bad draws and awkward mana at the beginning; had a Mox Ruby or something like that but needed a Jet I think.

I don't know all the decks in top 8 but the 2nd match and 4th match I played both made top 8; also some workshop in there, gush, not sure what Ben ran but he was in there also.

Overall I can't complain. For my second Vintage tournament I think I did good for myself and I learned a lot about the meta and playing Oath; but more importantly I had a lot of fun!  Very Happy

I made top 4 with MUD.  Lost to Ryan Forsberg who had tons of hate.  I beat Jerry Yang playing Dredge in the top 8 despite having zero SB cards for Dredge.
