Hi all! Edit: Avacyn Restored will be legal for this tournament. Cards must be on the official Wizards spoiler to be playable. Also, I'm going to try to sticky threads in which signup is presently open. Since I haven't been strict about one-week signups, this might help to make clearer which tourneys are actually open (if any). Every week, I'm going to start a 8-player single elimination bracket. Rules are very similar to the TMD online invitational: 1. Games are played publicly on Cockatrice 2. Players have at most a week to complete each match. 3. Lists must be posted after all round 1 matches are complete. 3a. You cannot change lists between rounds. 3b. You must show your list at the beginning of each match after the first so your opponent can verify against your posted list. 4. Prize is the opportunity to play a featured match against a well-recognized member of the Vintage community. (Volunteers?) 5. Drops after the bracket is drawn are final. Nobody can fill that slot. 6. Brackets will be fully randomized. There will be no preference or "seeds" of any kind. Registration will be closed once we have 8 people or about a week passes and I remember to draw up a bracket. Players signed up as of last update: 1. AmbivalentDuck 2. Ruboonia 3. Grand Inquisitor 4. Shock Wave 5. Nataz 6. Guli 7. Cruel Ultimatum First matches must be complete by April 23rd. If all matches complete before then, the next set will be due within a week, and so on.  |

Edited: I'm allowing Avacyn Restored for this tourney. Didn't realize we'd have a sizable card pool to work with and Mastery is begging for testing/results.
Feel free to drop if this is a problem.

Remember that Avacyn Restored is legal and anything on the official spoiler is legal the minute it's there, but you can't change your decklist once you've used it.
The only acceptable proxy method is to edit the .cod deck file and manually input the name of the card. Pretty sure we have instructions for this in past threads. If anyone needs help, let me know.

Best an easiest way is to use the deck editor.
1. Open the deck editor
2. Load your deck 'Deck' > 'Load deck...'
3. Click in the menu again 'Save to clipboard'
4. And again 'Load from clipboard'
Then you get your deck in a sheet, and you can there just add whatever you want and click 'OK' then 'Save deck' from menu.

how are we doing miracle cards?
I'm a fan of draw it, then ctrl-shift-d to undo the draw and reveal it from the top. Or if you've already seen it for whatever reason (SDT, topdeck tutor, etc), you can just drag it into play. This saves you from having to peek before every draw, giving away that you run miracles. |

The spoil looks pretty legit anyway. Obv your call, but I think it would be fun. The reason for official spoils only is that they don't change midway through the tourney and they tend to come with some explanation of any rules changes needed to play with them. Cavern of Souls has a scan, but the name isn't set in stone. I guess if nobody responds by saying that they do NOT want Cavern of Souls legal for this tourney, we can allow it. |

Beat ShockWave in 2.
Game 1, I play through a turn 1 Standstill with first turn Trygon followed by second turn Trygon. I have a clutch full of countermagic backed by Snapcaster Mages.
Game 2, he has Gorilla Shaman and a Time Walk early. That's all he really does. I Merchant Scroll up an Ancestral, fight a counter war over it, then Snap it the next turn winning that counter war. I flood him with critters and he never recovers.
Thoughts: This deck is pure pressure, hard to hate out (and Guli has tried!), and well-equipped for every matchup in the format other than Dredge out of the gate. People kept debating the merits of Tandem Lookout vs Edric when the clear answer is that if you run Edric, you run both. Drawing 3-5 cards a turn is nearly impossible to keep up with.
