Welcome to TMD, Devilocke.
As North Carolina is in the South, tournament announcements for your event should be filed under the 'Southern U.S.' forum.
Good luck with your event.

While I realize that North Carolina fought for the "South" in the Civil War, if you glance at the map below you will find North Carolina on the east coast. It's also no where near Texas.

Sorry Nick D. and Nick C. I guess I won't be able to make any of your tournaments since they are outside of my Standard Federal Region.

Me and Bibendum will be moving to NC (the deep South) in less than two weeks so we will be making every attempt to make this tournament. Can't wait to meet some fresh faces!

For starters, thank you for bringing up the point of confusion. I'm looking into having the 'Eastern U.S.' Announcement Forum re-named 'Northeast U.S.' in order to avoid further confusion.
As your venue is 913 miles from Boston, 690 miles from New York and 604 miles south of Philadelphia it is in the Southern U.S. It's also roughly 600 miles south of the Mason-Dixon line, which is the traditional demarcation point between the Northern U.S. and the Southern U.S.
In the future please announce your events in the Southern U.S. Announcement Forum.
Thanks!

Yes, I realize the traditional understanding of the Mason-Dixon line, and I am also aware it was established in the 1700s... I was just more interested in physical geographic location, not historical/political divisions. North Carolina is most certainly in the Southeastern U.S. and Vintage magic players in Texas will likely not be attending any events here. Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California are generally considered the Southwest. This area likely deserves it's own forum, rather than being lumped together with with events over a 1000 miles away. We're actually closer to Boston.

Are there a lot of events in new mexico? Has an event in New Mexico ever been posted on TMD, in the history of the site? "South" sorta assumes Southeast, and Southwest is covered by "There are no events here so why have a forum".

These are all assumptions that are not covered in, and somewhat contradicted by, the forum descriptions.

North Carolina takes forever to travel through laterally. These are all assumptions that are not covered in, and somewhat contradicted by, the forum descriptions.

Needless to say, I play devil's advocate from time to time... especially with authority figures in general, even when forum moderators move my thread. hehe. I actually have nothing to do with the actual tournament, I just post them online. I will play in the tournament. Just be prepared for dredge.

I'm a high school teacher in South Carolina, and my exams/final grades are the following week. I want to go so badly and support Asheville tournaments, but I don't think that week will be the one for me. All my decks would be Legacy mono-colored + proxies anyway.

Interesting note...I am clearly in the south (MS) and have nearly as far a drive to North Carolina as prospero. I hope your events are successful.

Does this venue have a website/mailing list?
