Conclusion:
It seems like the community was having some fun with Brian DeMars, as over 20 people named their deck for the day 'Slaughter Smurfs'.
As Nick Detwiler has vacated his NEV Points, Josh Butker (who finished 9th) is awarded six top eight points! Congratulations, Josh!
Moving forward I’m going to run my events on Saturdays, for the most part, with only the Winter and Summer Open tournaments potentially being run on Sundays. I was very happy to see so many new players, many of whom seemed to be Legacy converts. With proxies, Vintage is a cheaper alternative than Legacy, and it has great lines of play that you won’t have in any other format!
My sincere thanks to Julian Palermo, Mike Noss and all my staff, as well as you, the players who made it out to this event! Spread the word – the next NEV event is in New York, on Saturday September 1st and the NEV Points Standings WILL be updated before then! I hope to see you all there!

If they are on Sundays in the future I really hope to have a huge notice of vintage taking place on a Sunday. Origionally when this event was a save the date/s I was assuming vintage would be Saturday as usual, and then I was extremely disappointed when I seen it was for Sunday...
Never the less congrats to all of the top 8, and I hope to make it next time!!!

Slaughter Smurfs was half the top 8! What a showing. Too bad it wasn't accounted for on the Pie Chart. I wonder what Brian DeMars thinks about the deck now that is has such amazing results!

Props to "6TR" member Evan for his top 8 showing. Props to the "God King" himself Mr. Nick Coss for holding a fantastic event. @ Nick. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeep! Props to Nick D., Tom D, Rob E.,and the rest of the top 8. Not that many will agree but Sunday is a great day to play vintage.

Well for those that work during the week, if you plan on doing well at a large event...waking up the following morning early isn't so much fun. There are more cons for Sunday events IMO

I'm sure there are plenty of people who have reasons to prefer one day to the other. Saturdays are actually worse for me, because my son has baseball games and such on Saturdays but never has anything on Sunday. I would have gone to more of the NEV Series tourneys if they were on Sundays.

There are more cons for Sunday events IMO I actually prefer Sunday as well. I'm generally out later at FNM and having to get up early and travel is not pleasant. Either way I'll be attending.

There are more cons for Sunday events IMO Heh, it was almost 1 am when I got home from this. Was still at work at 7. In other news, I think Chris won because he played more Jaces than his opponents. That's how vintage works, right?

Vintage tournaments should only be run on days that end in a "Y". Wish I could've been there, it looks like it was a lot of fun. Congrats to all the players and the top 8 for your strong efforts. Glad to see my man Mike Noble in there again! Go Shardless!

This was an awesome tournament. It is always great to see new players and vintage continuing to grow. Because of work this was my first NEV event since March. Hopefully there are more Sunday events in the future... Congrats to the top 8!!

I guess I could just be thankful that vintage generally speaking is on Saturday...if vintage was regularly on Sunday I probably would not be playing vintage...That being said if there is enough of a notice that vintage is on Sunday, I should be able to make it for the winter and summer opens.
@ Kholer, yes Jace tends to get some work done haha!

I only like Sunday cause of my job . I'm lucky to get one Saturday a month off. Nick and I had a conversation about how our one day off is the day we can actually get work done . Then we pondered what sleep was . I'm very happy to see landstill beat all that shop in the T8. On the flipside Nick's list is sick as hell . GenCon should be neat !?
