9/24 Monday Night Vintage at Fog of Dusk, Columbus, Ohio

Based on the amazing turnout of 17 we had at the last tournament, we're holding another full-proxy Vintage tournament at Fog of Dusk in Columbus, Ohio. This should be a great opportunity to learn the format, test a new deck, and make some new friends. Please invite friends an let everyone know. Midwest Vintage is growing, and this is the kind of grass-roots effort that will help!

About Start Time
Because we had such a good turnout, we're going to have to start earlier. This event will begin at 7 p.m. sharp! Be there on time, please.

About proxies
Since there will be newer players, I highly recommend having the complete Oracle text written out neatly for any cards. Revised lands make this fairly easy since the printing is so light. We have several players who have been using printouts backed by cards in a sleeve. These look nice and work especially well if the entire deck is done this way (so that all cards have uniform thickness). If you have questions, let me know. I don't think anyone will be very picky, but good proxy habits are worth getting into.

We had, 11 people last night, including at least three newcomers. We played four rounds, and top four was based on standings:

1 Jacob - RUG Delver
1 Nat - LabMan Oath
3 Theo - UBR Jace Vault
4 Jeremy - Dredge

Unlike last time, there was only one Workshops deck.

I heard from several people that they are interested in Vintage and who expressed interest in playing in the Team Serious Open in Columbus on October 21 (http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=44486.0). Others also said that, now that they understand better how the proxy system works, they'll be bringing proxied decks next time.

Next event should be October 8 (http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=44599.0). This will start at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Be there!
