What? Who is "we"? It isn't like you and the Voice in your head are the onces to decide what to Play in this Deck alone.

Your arguments negate each other: once you argue that you kill opponents before they can do anything that harms your winterwonderland-decklist and the other Case you describe how you want to outdraw/-Play them with draw7's in "Turn 10". Tell me why in this Case confidant isn't 200% better than FoF or a draw7?

You still promote burning Wish -> cruel Bargain?
4x LED in Vintage "wouldn't Cut it anymore"?
Confidant and Preordain are Bad because you always kill on Turn 1?

Imo your latest Post is trashtalking only, twisting each argument so it benefits your Point of view. Where are your several tournament wins you named? Against what decks?

I'm now 100% sure you have no idea about vintage Storm or the metagame. If you only opened this thread to Look for people kissing your *** or slap their critic with hilarious statements, I have nothing left to do here.

Maybe it wasn't elegantly stated. Let me put it that way

Based on what people are saying in this thread, I actually think this will be the case until I win with it. Wink

I understand you're not a fan of Draw7s.  I like Draw7s.  I don't like Dark Confidant.  I never argued that "I kill opponents before they can do anything" unless you're referring to the point I made about the Shops matchup.  Which was that I have a chance to kill my opponent on turn 1 OR cast a Draw7, putting me ahead on resources and possibly forcing them into something bad. And yes while you can sometimes draw a hand that is an instant win, you sometimes have to play through a lot of counters and win conditions.  In a situation like this, Dark Confidant would be strong. (Which is why I brought it up in response to "What about infinite counters?")  I'm not suggesting Fact or Fiction is the best card in the game, but its a blue draw spell thats castable off Dark Ritual and it puts cards into the graveyard for Yawgmoth's Will.  It's been fine, but I could see it getting replaced.  You cut Gifts Ungiven, which is HIGHLY questionable.

Promote?  I'm not promoting Burning Wish -> Cruel Bargain, but I'm definitely still using it.

4 LED Long wouldn't cut it anymore.  Not for me anyway.

This is very rude and disrespectful.  I take it you don't believe me?  I'm not going to start posting links; you can either take my word for it or continue to think I'm unqualified.  It doesn't matter to me the slightest bit.

Alright, thanks for your input on the subject.  Good luck, sorry we had a disagreement, and I'll see you around

For all of you out there...I know a handful of good storm combo players over the last 5 years or more, and Desolutionist (Shawn Anthony) is one of them. He doesn't play in vintage regularly, but when he comes out for an event he's usually on rituals and he usually does well. This is post golem meta game as well. Desolutionist knows how to build and play these types of decks very well. So all the haters out there that have no clue should slow down a bit...

My 2 cents  Wink

Edit: @ Lemnear, you say this guy knows nothing about vintage storm, and frankly your wrong. I'm sure he has been playing storm since you were in pampers so if you want to get ignorant ad cruel towards Desolutionist, think twice. He is an excellent player (he played more in the past) and he is no slouch, and he knows why he's doing I can not stress this more. You like bob he likes draw 7s, and in my experience playing ritual based decks I choose draw 7s over bob as well. So thanks for your input even though you are getting a bit out of hand. You both have contrasting ideas on rituals so be it. Maybe you should open up a GWSx thread or a bob tendrils thread and start talking there (assuming you know what GWSx is). Your time and ignorance in this thread is up. I bit my tung for a few days maybe even a week now watching this thread and you crossed the line. So thank you and goodbye  Very Happy

I am not sold on burning wish right now and dont necessarily like Shawns lists, but I find them interesting and there is certainly parts that I agree with.

However saying that Shawn doesn't know anything about storm combo is just a ridiculous statement.

Locked.

Here are some basics:

1.  There are going to be people on the internet who say things that you don't agree with.  What separates this board from others is that we're expected to deal with each other in a civil manner.  Making assumptions about the other persons skill is something that you can do in private; it doesn't need to be voiced on TMD.

2.  There are a bunch of words that trigger overreactions.  Expletives are up at the top end of that list, but there were a bunch that were used here.  Instead of attacking the people who are posting in this thread, you should look to ask a series of questions that evidence your opinions.  If you feel that there is nothing to be done to convince them, say as much and call it quits.  Some people need to experience things for themselves; you're not going to be able to convince someone who isn't open to being convinced.  Which means that trying to do so, after that has been made evident, is a futile exercise that will probably just lead to a flamewar.

3.  Desolutionist is one of the elite Storm pilots in the U.S., but any conversation with anyone else should be respectful and open.  I still don't know all the names of all the users behind all the handles on this site.  In the meantime, I try to explain my point of view without impugning the skills of the person with whom I'm having said discussion.

This was a good thread about a deck that may or may not be good.  What I'd really like to see, moving forward, is more conversations like this in which we all tone the rhetoric down and focus on what the real goal is; having a productive discussion that leads to new theory, decks, etc. being produced.
