The details on the next New York N.E.V. event have been set. Here they are: When:Saturday, October 20th, 2012 Registration will begin at 11:00 AM First round will begin promptly at 12:00 PM What: $30, 10 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament. Up to five additional proxies can be bought for $1 each. Deck registration sheets will be in use. The prize structure will be as follows: 1st: $400 Coss credit 2nd: $200 Coss credit 3rd/4th: $100 Coss credit 5th/8th: $50 dealer credit 9th: Mystery Prize, to be autographed by the top 8 Generally I'll guarantee a piece of power as prize support for the event, but this is just easier. Nick has Moxen that can be bought with less than that $400 in credit, and it makes it easier to pick out what you'd actually like, in case you win. As always, prizes will scale with attendance. Side Events:Eight man, single elimination, side events will be available throughout the day. Signups for the first event will begin after round four of the main event. Entry fee is $12, with a blue dual land (probably a Tundra) being given to first! Where:Brothers Grim Games & Collectibles 1244 Middle Country Road Selden, N.Y. 11784 (631) 698-2805 brothersgrimgames@gmail.comStore website: http://brgrim.com/index.htmI hope to see you all there!

Nick and I run the NEV Series and we decide when we're going to run events each month. This was the only weekend that we were able to run an event this month, and as there were no New York events in July or August there will be a New York event in October, though no New Jersey event. There will be a New Jersey event in November, and there should be one final New York event in November as well.

My son is scheduled to be born on October 26... So with this date around 6 days before, and NJ scheduled only a couple days after... I will unfortunately probably have to skip both. Can someone dedicate their win to me and my son!?!?

Congratulations, Shawn. That's wonderful news! It looks like the last N.Y. NEV event of the year will be on 12/1. I will be making an announcement in the next few days regarding these events, so stay tuned...

I will dedicate my win to your unborn child. Anyone who thinks about beating me now has to live with the guilt that comes along with it. TL;DR: Go Go MiniGriffiths.

So, I said that I had an update to go up, and I do.
I've been very happy to be a Vintage T/O for as long as I have. Come December it will be three and a half years in this go around. Add that up to my first go around of three years and I've been doing this for a while.
I am going to be scaling back what I do as a T/O. I am not going to eliminate what I do, but this event, and the event on 12/1, will be the last regular events at Brothers Grim. I am open to the idea of running a large scale event at Grim once or twice a year, but the dedication that is required in order to run a monthly Vintage event like this is more than I can handle at the moment.
I have spoken to the store owners on Long Island, and there will continue to be Vintage events on Long Island, though I will probably not be your T/O. When we are closer to January I will ask the store owners to post events to TMD.
To reiterate; this is not the end of Vintage on Long Island, just a changing of the guard. There will be events that are available to those who feel like playing. Things may change in the future, and I may look to get back in. For the time being, however, I am going to step back.
My sincere thanks to everyone who has attended one of my events, whether you were there at the beginning at the N.Y.S.E. Challenge, or if you were at last months N.Y. NEV event. It has been a great ride, and it has been that way because of the community.

Tu es sauvage, monsieur Egan. For the rocord, its spelt monsignor. I didnt spend all that time in the seminary and given a honorary title by the pope for you to misspell it.

Less than a week left for the second to last NY event at Brothers Grim, potentially ever. Who's coming, who's winning, who'll be here to have a good time with the rest of us?

I was in the process of purchasing a non-Noble Fish deck when Mr. Coss politely asked me to deal at this event. Although I won't be able to play, I'll be there to have a good time anyway, with someone else's money to buy everybody's cards.
