Comic Book Depot is going to run its first Mox tournament in years!

Here's the info:

What:

Comic Book Depot Sunday Vintage
$20, 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage tournament

Prize Structure:

1st: Unlimited Mox Ruby (at 20 entrants)
2nd: Revised Tropical Island (at 24 entrants)

An additional $20 in credit will be added to the top four, then top eight, for every additional entry fee.  Depot has a wide variety of Vintage, Legacy, Modern and Standard singles on hand, so it's a solid prize.

Where:

The Comicbook Depot
2847 Jerusalem Avenue
Wantagh, NY 11793-2016
(516) 221-9337

When:

Sunday, December 16th
11am registration, 12pm start

Depot has a tremendous Vintage collection, as Samite Healer has an incredible amount that is on sale in the store, including power that has now been added to the showcase.

Additionally, Depot is going to be running a 10% off sale on all Magic singles (that aren't on consignment) and all Magic supplies (sleeves, binders, etc.) that day, so if you need anything, it's a good time to pick it up.

Pre-Registration:

Depot is a great store, but unlike Grim, it can't hold everybody and their brother.  In order to ensure that everyone has table play space and a seat, we're going to do pre-registration for Depot power tournaments.  Alan is currently working on making more room in the store by rearranging things, but for the time being we can comfortably fit 28 players.

Pre Registration List:

1.  Grant Seltzer-Richman
2.  Brian Ritter
3.  Mike Egan
4.  Mike Eckert
5.  Jared Leshen
6.  Bryan Brady
7.  JP Kohler
8.  Visna Harris
9.  Michael Savage
10.  Alexander Eliot Najman
11.  Dave Gans
12.  Jake Gans
13.  Greg Fenton
14.  Pat Albergo
15.  Jon Varelakis
16.  Tom Daliapes
17.  Nick O'Connor
18.  Justin Kohler
19.  Jesse DeMarco
20.  David Tirado
21.  Tom Dixon
22.  James Hangley
23.  Drew Petagna
24.  Jeff Anand
25.  Stanislaw Zylinski
26.  Mike Sorrentino
27.  Minhaj Abedin
28.  Jon Lacker

I hope to see you all on Sunday 12/16!

Any pre-reg necessary?

Depot will be equipped to handle 30 players.  I haven't spoken to Alan yet, pre-reg may be a good idea.  I'll run the idea past him later tonight.

Any pre-reg necessary?

I've spoken with Alan, and we're going to do pre-registration for the event to make sure that players have a spot.

To pre-reg for this event all you'll have to do is post here, PM me, or make a note on the Facebook announcement for this event.  There are 28 spots that are available, which gives everybody table space and a seat.  If Depot is able to fit any more players than that, I'll make a note of it here, but I'm not going to have people come to play, and then find themselves left standing, playing on a countertop, because that's just miserable.

The original post will be updated to reflect who has registered.  I'll take registrations up until Saturday night, 12/15.  I'd highly recommend pre-registering, so that you're not turned away at the door.

More than likely going to be able to make the event.  If it starts getting down to ~5 slots left and anything changes, I will update.  Until then, expect me there and ready to beat Grant  (:

If that TV is on the Giants game (and I figure out how to borrow half a deck), I could see myself showing up.

Depot looks awesome.  I can't wait for people to see it.  Alan cut down all the tables to proper table height, bought new (comfortable) chairs, installed the TV (which will have football on), changed around his displays, and picked up a bunch of cards.  He's also running a deal this Sunday for KMC sleeves, which he'll announce at the store.  He has more changes in mind, but he's making real headway.  Depot is a great place to play.

Also, because I forgot to do this earlier:

ForcetheWill (Jimmy Hangley) is one of the pillars of the New York community, and he recently lost nearly his entire collection, in addition to many, many other things in Hurricane Sandy.  Jimmy lives in Long Beach, New York.  Forgive the music, but if you don't know what happened to Long Beach, this video will give you a better idea of the destruction:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLe9pok1i3w

What do you do when you have seven feet of water in your home?

Some of us are working on a collection to help Jimmy put together a Workshop deck again.  He's missing everything, save a Sol Ring.  If you're interested in donating, come down to Depot on Sunday, or speak with Nick Coss, as both he and I will take donations.

We're at 15 16 17 pre-registrants at the moment.

If you intend on coming down to Depot this weekend, please let me know sooner rather than later.

Depot has a max capacity of 32.

Decklists will be required, though I haven't spoken to Alan to see if he's going to do a report for TMD.

You're lame.

I'd say type it out and print it, but that seems to be an issue.

Actually, looks like it will be damn near impossible to go. Holiday party the night before means no way I'll be in any shape to play.

Haha, I remember that!  Was really hungover all day.  Noticed that I was running on E while in the middle of nowhere, and then my phone runs out of batteries when trying to GPS a gas station.  Still managed to get there though, and split the finals!  Good times.
