At least in the Magic scene, the homebase is in Ohio and members of the Sandwich Punch scene have set up splinter communities elsewhere as they migrate to new lands and take their wild new ideas about punching sandwiches with them.
It's always a good idea to ask before you punch, as this is above anything else a gentleman's game. If they are in, now you know and next time you can punch away. If they are not in, it's a fantastic conversation starter and a great way to add another player to the fold!

Yangtime once told me he'd stab me in the neck with a pencil if I touched his sandwich..... The kid doesn't joke, I still have the puncture mark to prove it. WTH is it?
