Phyrexian Metamorph and Sculpting Steel

I play metamorph copying something making metamorph an artifact something. As Sculpting steel comes into play, does it look at the metamorph being a metamorph or would the sculpting steel copy the something?

Metamorph copying Goyf
Play sculpting steel do I get a metamorph to copy anything or a Goyf

The Metamorph's 'copiable values' (i.e. what anything copying it can see) become the characteristics of the thing it copies (plus being an artifact).  In the example you've given, the Sculpting Steel would become a Tarmogoyf which is also an artifact.
