Bazaar of Moxen VII
1h away from Lyon and 20 min. from Geneva

Keeping the basics that made BoM a success for 6 years now, we’ve worked on many great changes to make it even better in 2013.

BoM7 will still happen in May. In 2013, we’ll have the pleasure to welcome you for 5 days of gaming, from Wednesday, 8th to Sunday 12th.
Since both Wednesday, 8th and Thursday 9th are bank holidays in several countries, this grants you a long week-end of gaming without taking too many days off work.

BoM’s 7th Edition will still be held in Annecy. Taking your remarks into account we’ve looked into a better venue and will be pleased to welcome you in a brand new room that can comfortably sit 1000 players. Its address:
Complexe d'animation
2000, route d'Albertville
74320 SEVRIER
Sevrier is literally touching Annecy. There is public transportation to and from the venue. Here's a Google map of the area: Google Map

Besides finding a better venue, we have also thought about the length of the tournaments. Having you play 14 rounds in one day was just not fun. Therefore we have decided to run the Main Event over two days: Day1 will be held on Friday and Day2 on Saturday. Players with 21 points or more after 9 rounds will be qualified for Day2. For those of you who won’t make Day 2, you’ll find another great Legacy tournament to enter.

There are only two things we will never change:
  • We’ll still be giving out hundreds of Dual Lands and dozens of P9 pieces in 2013. For the first time, we’ll distribute more than 300 Dual Lands as prizes.
  • We guarantee the prizes we announce, no matter what the tournament attendance is.
The only right we retain is to add even more prizes if the attendance exceeds our expectations!

Here’s the detailed schedule of the events:

What's the average turn out for this, and could we possible run one of these in NY and draw a similar American crowd?

Would love to go, but I live in Texas, which is like the exact opposite side of the world.  The plane ticket alone would break me.  I can swing a trip to NY since family lives almost everywhere in the US and a domestic flight isn't nearly as expensive.  $350 is a possibility to make this big of an event - $1350, not so much.

Really good to see the announcement, I hope I can make it this time, was there during BOM II and it was really good.
Prices look as always very good.

Attendance on these events Legacy + 600 and Vintage +300 players if I recall it correctly.

@ Shockwave: Planning on going this time?

I flew from Canada to Paris, then into Geneva with EasyJet. Horrible idea. Takes forever, you have to go from Paris CDG to Paris Orly, then we got delayed, then you need to go through that horrible french side of the Geneva airport where there is no one, then you need to take a bus to Annecy.

If you can fly directly into Geneva from where you are, it's worth it. Otherwise, if you have to fly into Paris, take the TGV to Annecy. 4 hours, they leave often, you get to enjoy the awesome french countryside.

Thanks for the heads up. I've done easyjet from Ireland to Spain and back a few times and it was at least on time.

I think I might try to fly into Barcelona to visit friends / hit Manainfinito store and buy a few t-shirts. Then try to get to Annecy from Barcelona. Does anyone watching this thread have any experience getting from Barcelona to Annecy? I know there's a decent legacy / vintage scene in Barcelona so I imagine there will be some number of players heading to BoM from there.

Thanks,
Sean O'Brien

Edit: Rooms are almost gone. I got a room at a hotel about 1km north of the tourney site and feel fortunate.

Anything going on in Barcelona the week after Bazaar of Moxen, I'll be there boozing and eating croquettas de jamon and patatas bravas for another week or so? Is the manainfinito store the place to be for MTG in barcelona?

Hi! Ask in http://www.eternalcatala.com, probably the most popular eternal forum in Barcelona. And yes, I believe ManaInfinito to be the place to be, specially speaking of Vintage, but you can also find Legacy, Modern and much more Smile

I'm not going to Annecy but a good bunch of players are surely going there.

Starting to get very excited about this now! My first BOM - and can't wait. Not sure whether to play only Vintage trials on Friday and Saturday - or to pay a pretty penny to have my arse handed to me in the Legacy main event.... choices! Smile

Seems like a decent-sized UK contigent will be heading there. Any Americans coming?

The tournaments in ManaInfinito store are announced every Monday, there is a Proxy Vintage league once a month with 20ish attendance, I guess on Monday 13th the tournaments for Friday and Saturday will be announced. These are normally Legacy, Modern, or Vintage.

Regarding big Vintage events, the LCV is normally held the last Saturday of the month, so I´m afraid you won´t make it after the BoM for that tournament Sad

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Even if there isn't much going on I'll still stop by to check it out, I've watched enough mana infinito videos I feel like I know the participants.

Perhaps after the 4 days of playing magic I'll just want to relax and eat, drink and hang out. I don't suppose you have room for another on your ride back on Monday? I can pay for gas and tell you stories of days terrible decks of years gone by? Otherwise I can catch a jumper flight from Geneva I suppose.

- Last but not least I remind you that preregistrations are open, and the sooner you get preregister, the better we can organise everything. Be nice with us tell that you're planning to come and spread the word Smile

Just curious does anyone have experience going through Geneva and keeping across the border to Annecy / Sevrier ? Should I expect 2-3 hours? KM wise it looks very close and I've found a number of bus services all for reasonable prices. I don't want to end up Taken.
