Hey guys!

As we approach the end of the year, I have some information for you!

The final event of the 2013 TDG Eternal Series will be on December 14th.  It's a Legacy tournament with 40 duals being given out as prizes.  It's the last chance you have to earn points towards qualifying for the FREE Eternal Championship event we're holding, which is Sunday, December 15th!

The championship event is a free, invite-only event for the top 32 players in attendance.  So yes, even if aren't in the Top 32, come on out, because if there are no-shows then it will pass down! It will start at 11:00 am on Sunday, December 15th.  You'll need a Modern deck, a Legacy deck, and a Vintage deck!  We will be allowing 10 proxies for EACH format, to make it easier for everyone to be able to play.  The event will progress as follows; Round 1) Modern, Round 2) Legacy, Round 3) Vintage, Round 4) Modern, Round 5) Legacy, Round 6) Vintage.  We will then cut to a Top 8, where they will play out in the same order (T8 Modern, T4 Legacy, Finals Vintage).

A few people have asked if the Eternal Weekend events count towards this.  They do not, since I wanted this event to be there for the guys who come out, month after month, and play at Top Deck Games.  I will be announcing the 2014 Vintage Series soon, so stay tuned!

Invites pass down! If you're close, come on down anyway!

Prizes:

1st: $400 credit
2nd: $200 credit
3rd-4th: $100 credit
5th-8th: $50 credit

Also, we will be holding a $1000 Vintage event on the same day, for anyone else who has made the trip down with those who have qualified.  It will start after Round 2 of the Championship event, to be available for those who 0-2 drop and still want to battle.  Entry fee is $25, 10 proxies allowed, decklists required.

See you guys there!

Wow. Just wow. I'll try my hardest to make every remaining Vintage event. No promises about the other formats though.

Great!  I can't wait to play modern!   Very Happy

On a serious note, slightly higher stakes seems cool.  Also, I would wager that GP Charlotte had more of an effect on last month's attendance than proxies or whatever else.

Where will the legacy tournaments be announced?  I may be interested in those if they don't conflict with vintage.

Is there a top 8 at the end of year format. If so, does the higher seed get to choose the format?

Wondering the status of this event? It's been getting bantered about on Facebook by the guys in the region and we're a little fuzzy on the details. Any word coming down the pipeline? Psyburat? Iron_Chef?

I sincerely hope that this isn't the decided upon date, I have a final that Saturday.

While my goal is to work towards sanctioned Vintage, it is obvious that there is a lot of resistance from a lot of players (18 players last month).  That being said, I would rather see people play Vintage then not, so for the remainder of the year all of my large Vintage events will allow 10 proxies (all of them for free).

I appreciate the events where proxies are allowed. I just started vintage this year, so the proxies really help. Just to give you some perspective, proxies allow me to easily step into the vintage scene and I feel that this helps keep the meta healthy (otherwise we'd see nothing but hatebears from new players). Seeing other players with power and getting a feel for what a real vintage deck feels like gives me more motivation to collect real p9.

2nd wknd will be open to run it.....

I believe that there's a somewhat large Legacy tournament in Philadelphia on December 14--just something to keep in mind.

We'll be running it December 15th, as to not conflict with the Philadelphia Legacy Series Championship that we're running on the 14th (that large Legacy event).

I will post current standings by the end of the weekend, if not today.

There will not.  There "might" be one in between Christmas and New Years, but I'm still figuring out the details.

Free? 10 proxy for each format? I would be stupid to not borrow Legacy and Modern cards.

Question -

What's the time allotment between formats like? If I own four tarmogoyfs, but I'm playing them in two formats, am I going to need four goyfs or eight (proxy or otherwise)? A.k.a. am I going to have time to desleeve/resleeve, or do all the decks have to be ready to go from Round 1?

Statement -

Dammit. I was retired until I saw this. How in the hell did I sneak fifth? Guess I need to put on my robe and wizard hat one more time...

Use the same sleeves, I just fixed your problem

merfolk has been doing quite a bit better in modern, joel.  Master of waves is, in my opinion, the main reason to play the deck.  I like the splash black build because moderns counterspells are really poor comparitively you usually will want thoughsieze to stand for the disruption role.
