The next Comic Book Depot Mox tournament of 2013 is on the schedule!
Here's the info:
What:
Comic Book Depot Sunday Vintage $25, 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage tournament
Prize Structure:
1st: Unlimited Mox Emerald (at 20 entrants) 2nd: $100 credit, or qualification to the N.Y.S.E. Open (at 24 entrants) 3rd/4th: $25 credit (at 26 entrants)
$25 in credit will be added down the line with each additional entry.
Where:
The Comicbook Depot 2847 Jerusalem Avenue Wantagh, NY 11793-2016 (516) 221-9337
When:
Sunday, April 7th 11am registration, 12pm start
Pre-Registration:
1. Greg Fenton 2. Vincent Forino 3. Raffaele Forino 4. Visna Harris 5. Mike Bauer 6. Mike Hajduk 7. Tommy Ng 8. Tom Daliapes
Depot is a great store, but unlike Grim, it can't hold everybody and their brother. In order to ensure that everyone has table play space and a seat, we're going to do pre-registration for Depot power tournaments. Alan is currently working on making more room in the store by rearranging things, but for the time being we can comfortably fit 36 players.
If you'd like to add your name to the pre-registration list, please respond to me on this thread, via PM, or to Alan on the Facebook announcement for this event. I'll do my best to keep the pre-registration as up to date as possible.
I'm going to look to run an N.Y.S.E. Open qualifier at this event, as soon as I have enough entrants willing to participate. Even if you don't intend on playing in the main event, you should stop by Depot to play in the side event!

I can not attend this one. I'm loving having a regular Vintage tournament so close to me. I'm looking to attend the April credit tournament and I might be dragging an old wizard out of his library. (he's probably no one you know)

Might make this. Low chance, though.
Might have to dust off those Mayors of Avabrucks!

They're powerful. I know Raf's watching out for them. I'm going to tentatively put you down anyways. If we hit the max attendance, we'll figure it out then. Pretty sure I'll be able to make it.
Sounds good, see you then!

We have a couple more guys who have pre-registered for the event, though I know of many others who have yet to pre-reg (but have indicated that they're interested in going). If you'd like to pre-reg, please PM me, or ask here, and I'll put you on the list.

Well, we didn't quite have the turnout that I was hoping for, as we had nine players show today (nine, really?). That being said, there were some positives to be taken away from the day.
First up, we had a member of Magic royalty show up to the event, as Dave Price decided to sleeve up a Vintage deck. The list may not have been optimal, but Dave still made it to top four, before Mike Egan's Oath list ended his day. With Chris Pikula playing Vintage on occasion, all we need is Tony Tsai to begin and we'll have all of Team Deadguy playing Magic's oldest format. Welcome back, Dave!
Mike Egan took home the qualifier to the N.Y.S.E Open today, splitting with Jesse Prouler in the finals. Congratulations Mike and Jesse!
The next Depot credit tournament is in two weeks! I hope to see (more of) you there!
