2013 Eternal Series at Top Deck Games!

    Saturday, July 20th 2013
    Top Deck Games
    55 Haddon Ave
Haddon Township (aka Westmont), NJ 08108

Plan to be at the store by 11:00AM.  Out of respect for the players who do show up on time, and to keep the event ending at a reasonable hour, pairings for Round 1 will be going up at Noon.  If you are late to the store or not ready by noon, we will be allowing late registration, but it comes with a Round 1 Loss.

Vintage Event

Registration: 11:00 AM (Pairings go up @ 12:00 Noon)
        Entry Fee: $40
        Format: Vintage
        K-Value: Unsanctioned, 10 proxies.
        REL: Competitive (like a PTQ)
        Decklists are required (and published).

        The Prizes:
1st Place: $700 in store credit
2nd Place: $360 in store credit
        3rd - 4th Place: $150 in store credit
        5th - 8th Place: $80 in store credit
        9th - 16th Place: $40 in store credit

The 2013 Eternal Series:

EDIT: Many players were not ready by the noon starting time at our June 22nd event.  Ready means in the building, paid, a proper deck sheet filled out completely (we provide blank sheets for those who may not have prepared one in advance), sleeved, and otherwise ready to go.  As a courtesy to the players that have taken the time to do all these things, a lack of tournament-level preparedness by the time the player meeting starts will be met with a game loss for all future events.  This was already a rule, but one that we were punished for relaxing on.

My attendance on this I think entirely depends on if Matt Elias and Allen Fulmer come out of the woodwork again.

I'm not on FB, so thanks for posting the dates.  not sure if i'll be able to make this since we're getting a dog the week before that.  if I play hopefully I'll be able to find my game before that.

Anyone from NY looking to head to this event? I normally drive a car full but am taking the wife and kid down to NJ for the day and don't have the room. Am asking for my normal carmate(s) that still want to get to the event. Please let me know.

Perhaps you misunderstood, but I said you would be on Dredge to next level him saying that you wouldn't be...

I understood what you said, but this kind of leveling creates a sort of paradox.  I was just trying to nip it in the bud and bring it back to level 1.

I'm quite calm. Perhaps you haven't seen the film I'm referencing?

I dont know the movie, but I was trying play a long.  No tone of voice makes people think we are arguing.

The Princess Bride is a classic. You should put aside the two hours at some point to view it. Here's the scene I was referencing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_eZmEiyTo0

It has the most famous discussion of leveling that I know of. It is often referred to as the WIFOM (Wine in Front of Me) scene and is commonly used in the game Mafia to describe positions that scale up based on duplicity and imperfect knowledge.
