There is absolutely no excuse for that.  Sanctioned Vintage tournament rarely reach 80 players in the US.    For past times to lose those decklists is inexcusable.  Folks should complain.

Obviously, but JACO asked for the lists prior to the tourney and after the tourney they said the lists were just miss placed. Which, most likely, means that where misplaced into a trash receptacle.

The real humdingers going to happen next year when Pastime fades us again after Nick "I'm a Boss" Coss rocks the eternal world by hosting Eternal Weekend this November. I can't wait to go from epic prize support back to a painting for first and a nice job good game hand shake for 2nd on down.

missing T8 decks were Maniac Doomsday and another Pyromancer Gush build.

That's right there was a Doomsday deck; I didn't catch whether the other Pyromancer deck had bolts or not.

Burning Tendrils
Jace Control
Cavern Shops
Lage-Stage
Burning Tendrils
Metalworker Shops
BoM-BUG

were my matchup's through out the day ...

Damn 80 player tournament and Pasttimes lost the decklists?   *sigh*  How infuriating...

Yeah, what a total blowout.... I know JACO quad lazer checked and made sure he got them for day two.

On a different note, I didn't hear a single thing about anyone loosing or getting any cards stolen which I thought was great.

I'd also like to give a shout out to everyone who attended. It was an absolute blast talking and meeting with people I only get to read about online. I'll be hyping the EC GenCon thread when it gets released.

A gentleman let me know his Vintage deck was stolen on Saturday. The discussion took place on Sunday. Other than that, I heard of nothing else.

We have all of the decklists from Saturday's Vintage 12pm event except one - Marc Lanigra's. He finished in the Top 8, so if anyone can contact him and let us know that would be fantastic. Top 8 and full metagame will be published later today.

Top 8 was

1 - Forgema$ter $hops (Irmler - Germany)
2 - Torture Chamber Shops (Becker - USA)
3 - Gush Mancer w/ Bolts (Grudzina)
4 - BoM BUG (Cavanaugh - USA)
5 - ? (Lodovico)
6 - Gush Mancer (?) (Greenbaum)
7 - ? (Butker)
8 - U/w Rest in Peace (me)

5th place was me, I was playing BUG. Not identical to the BoM build although I think it was pretty close.

@nedleeds

Hi Sean, why donīt you share the decklist here? Smile

Did you use Eduard Hernāndez UW RIP decklist from LCV as inspiration?

The decklist has given him very good results and last round knocked me out of top8 twice so far this year :_)

I used the obvious stuff and didn't copy a list inspiration was more likely a legacy RIP helm list. I don't think RIP-Helm is anything new or innovative (nor is U/w control for that matter) but I just find losing to dredge to be the most miserable thing in vintage and thus decided to play this. I also jammed 9-10 games vs. Steve's pyro list the prior night and didn't lose once (vs. the guy who finished 9th). I hedged my board against shops, and hoped I could maybe steal a game one vs. shops on the back of a fast rip/helm and my many basics.

Maybe my creature setup was more aggressive than some of the other U/w control builds. I had 3 Clique / 2 AMC main. My Tinker target was either helm or batterskull (or I guess Cage in a pinch). I'll type up my list and get it out when I've got some free time soon.

I beat Thomas on the draw after he had a mull to 5 game 1. Game two SFM took it home.

I beat Cavanaugh on the draw after a brick city game one where both of us sat in top deck mode for what seemed like 10 turns. I had a AMC slamming in every turn and he hard cast Forced 3 (?) consecutive spells. Game two Meddling Mage was indeed an asshole. I backed that up with Batterskull and he had a mana tight draw after making an error and burning his lotus for GGG pass turn.

This match fatigue set in; I didn't think I was favored on the draw vs. Torture Chamber Shops in game one. In addition he seemed really psyched about the draft battle so we split. Good times, also want to point out a couple of things. Nick Coss is a gentleman and a scholar, he conceded game one after discovering his will in his maindeck. I got game 3 of a tight 3 game vs. him but probably (yeah yeah the will affected this ordering of his deck ... but) shouldn't have had that match.

In addition myself and the 9th place competitor walked off after the final round the 1 seed had just smashed me in two games. Then we thought there might be m14 packs for 9th-16th that we could tear up in front of the casuals -- came back and there I was as the 8th seed. #neversaydie.

Anyone know what Torture Chamber shops is? Does it actually use said chamber card?

Pretty sure it's the Affinity shops build that Becker has been on for a bit.

Ya, it's the Genesis Chamber affinity deck. His list was probably identical to the one he top 8'd with on Saturday that's up on EC.
