Maybe I'm just in a nostalgic mood, but are any of our current users veterans of Beyond Dominia?  I had a Beyond Dominia account, where I posted foolish things about blue decks under the handle N.Y. Wizard.

I know that there are a few dinosaurs left, but I was asked if I knew of anyone else who was on Beyond Dominia, and while there are a few guys that I suspect were, I'm damned if I'm asked to respond with a measure of certitude.

And if you weren't on Beyond Dominia, were you on the first iteration of TMD?  If so, did you keep your handle after the crash?

I was just a lurker on BD and TMD. I didn't sign up for TMD until late 2004.

Yup.  There are links to web-archived BD threads in my History of Vintage chapters.  A good deal of my old posts/threads are still visible, not to mention far more important/interesting threads than my own.

Never signed up for BD, but I was on the old TMD and moved here in January 2004.  I guess in a manner of speaking we missed our 10-year anniversay (for this version of the board) a few months ago!

Pre-crash TMD user. Never spent much time on BD. Kept my handle after the crash (and on the brief temp board that popped up).

I was a lurker on BD.  I swear I archived a bunch of it before it crashed, but I have no idea where it would be.

I started playing Vintage around 2002, mostly just reading Oscar Tan articles. I may have wandered over to BD occasionally but if I did I don't remember it, and I certainly didn't sign up.

The first thing I do remember is lurking in that brief window of the temporary boards. Specifically, I remember reading about a 2 land Belcher deck that I thought was awesome at the time.

I officially signed up in January 2004. Pretty early on a software change allowed me to change usernames while keeping my account intact (PMs, post history, etc.), so I did that. My old name was WalkingSponge or something, though I think I only had like 50 posts under that name.

I was first directed to TMD by my friend Adam, who said "It's a website full if Vintage Snobs. Don't post there, but read up on it."  It tooks me weeks to figure out the lingo (I had no idea what Tog was, I had my moxen in a Vintage Sliver Queen/Enchantress deck at the time.  With Timetwister/regrowth)

I think TMD crashed shortly after that, then I got into TOURNEY vintage. Smile

No Beyond DOmina for me. Barely knew what the left mouse button did at the time.

Justin on BD. Kept the handle from BD, then again after the crash. "Cry havoc & let slip the gods of war"! Smennen has done a great job of plugging the Oscar Tan void. Wonder what that guy is up to these days, & if he still has the raccoon hat.

I lurked on there, but it wasn't until 2004 that I ventured onto TMD as the user 13NoVa, where I was a kid playing casually in the tournament scene.  However, once I started to take things more seriously, I changed to M.Solymossy.

There is a LOT of history about my overly vulgar mouth and trolling/flaming there, so when I was reinstated a few months ago, I made the decision to start fresh as just Soly.

I was a member of BD back in the day. I was able to get an account on TMD pre-crash because of knowing some folks in NY and signed back up immediately after the site came back online in Jan 2004. It's hard to believe it has been 10 years already. Even harder to believe is that we had 25 dollar entry, top 8 draft p9 events!

I was present on BD ('Hero 't Mannetje, the Dutch Pyromaniac" was my name I think) , pre and post-crash TMD but I haven't posted in the last few years; too many other things in my life so MtG is on the backburner.

I enjoy the occasional EDH/Commander game and some old-school tourneys we have, but since the Dutch vintage scene has dried up (due to other interests of most the old players) I doubt I'll play much more Vintage, still have all the cards though...

I was on there. Sort of a boring site. People were dead certain that Keeper was good and you couldn't talk any sense into them.

I got into BD just at the very end of it's existence (though I was just a lurker). I had played Magic since 1994, but only got into mtg on the internet (and "competitive" mtg) due to Oscar Tan's articles. I was on TMD from more or less the beginning (with the same user name, though only minimal actual posting). Then I left Magic around 2003 only to return during Zendikar. Good thing I didn't sell my cards.  Very Happy

Dead wrong.  It was roundly accepted that Sedge Troll was essentially invincible against Keeper.

Invincible Counter Troll? Srsly.

There were some strange beliefs about "Sapphire Oath" quietly being the best but taking too long to actually close games.

I was lurking and very occasionally posting on BD during it's existence, and I was here on the first iteration of TMD. I still like playing control decks that specialize in that most delicious of victory conditions (torture of your opponent until concession, preferably with high interaction. You have to give them hope or it's not fun.) and still violently remind people to test ideas before they start talkin'. I've judged tournaments containing a pile of people from the site over the years at cons and one at Altered States years and years ago. My handle has been the same all along, I'll have been using it for nearly twenty years here in the not too distant future.

I remember the Dojo. The last article I read there was about the split cards that had just been leaked in Invasion. Obviously R&D was out of ideas and Magic would soon be dead.

Noble Panther decks Keeper.

By the way, Josh saved one of the three pictures I made and put it in this article which brings up some laughs from the past:
