I made a card for a contest over at GatheringMagic that just went up today.  The prompt was to redesign Agrus Kos based on what happened to him in the 'story' (i.e. death).

Here's my submission:

Agrus Kos, Weary Stalwart  {R} {W/B} {W/B}
Legendary Creature - Spirit Soldier
First Strike.
Put Agrus Kos on the bottom of its owner's library: Put target artifact or enchantment card on the bottom of its owners library.  Activate this ability only once per turn.
2/3

Here were the designer notes I submitted along with the card:
Quote
I thought Argus should have a combat ability to echo his previous card, but it couldn't take up a lot of room. Considering the lower converted mana cost, a first striking 2/3 made sense. Since he's now a spirit, as conveyed by the type line and the Orzhov-hybrid casting cost, I thought he should be resilient to removal, so I choose the to have him cast Hide (where he features in the art) while also 'hiding' himself.

A note about an issue with the design:
The "Activate this ability only once per turn." clause wasn't necessary with 'hiding' Kos as a cost; it's leftover from a previous templating where the activation cost would have been  {R} {W} to both hide Kos and the target artifact/enchantment.  Maintaining the previous ability structure might have been a better choice since one member of the panel didn't like that this card gives Rakdos-only decks a way to deal with enchantments.

Anyway, if you have any interest in voting for my card I would appreciate it, but certainly head over to view this week's submissions (there will be a second week) and vote for whichever one appeals to you most!

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

If tucking him is a cost of the ability, isn't the "play this only once per turn" sort of redundant? He'll be on the bottom of the library at faster-than-instant speed, since nothing can respond to costs being paid.

That said I really like the thing you went with there. I'd almost rather see it costed at 2; like maybe W {BR}, just because creatures are all power creepy now and a 2/3 for 3 is... less impressive than maybe it used to be. Also for some reason I feel like the cost is almost better than it seems like it is, because it's not very often that creatures tuck themselves. There's bound to be some weird kind of value there (even if it's "oops, a broken combo" or something)

Also, I lost out in the voting horribly.  No worries, it was fun to have a prompt to start the creative juices flowing!
