I'm currently living in Texas. I quickly searched the site, but was mainly wondering if anyone here knew any "normal" tournaments that are held in Texas. I haven't ever played paper before ( having just gotten onto online magic within the last year ) but would love to play a Vintage tournament sometime.

If you're close to Louisiana, you should speak with H.  I know that he has done some work in Louisiana to try and get a scene going.

Alternatively, you could speak to TheWhiteDragon, as he's in Texas as well, though I don't know where in Texas.

Texas tournaments are listed under Southern U.S. in the tourney boards: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?board=76.0

Looks like frankcutlass is in Austin, and I know infant_no_1 is near Dallas.

I live in San Antonio.  I play weekly Modern FNMs at Heroes & Fantasies on Pat Booker Rd., but have not been able to find anywhere to play Legacy or Vintage.

Appreciate all the replies, I'm currently living Austin. It would be cool to make a "bigger" vintage tournament, so I might shoot for the one in August if able

Texas is just way too big, my conception of it's size is pretty much the same as my conception of the size of the sun: too large to comprehend.

We will have a Louisiana contingent at SCG Dallas on the 2nd and 3rd of August for Legacy, but we could easily bring our Vintage stuff too.

There are events in Denton (just north of Dallas) regularly. I'll be posting things here when they happen.

Also definitely check out the Eternal Struggle event, those guys are awesome.

To be fair, it's not quite as big as Alaska.

I have a friend there who has to travel 400 miles to meet a non-polar bear vintage player. Smile
