Unfortunately, I will be out of town on 9/14. I will make one of these soon, I swear.

Can someone post this on the NorCal Facebook group?  When I do, it shows up on my professional feeds.

I've found myself in the awkward position of being unable to borrow fetches from my friends this weekend(They are all going to a Modern tournament), but wanting to wait until Khans to finally buy the 7 I need. If someone is feeling generous and would be willing me to lend me 7 blue fetches of any kind/Wooded Foothills at the event, please PM me. I can lend a playset of Mox Opals and some other stuff if you want collateral. If anyone is willing to do this, I will be very grateful.

I have 9 blue fetches, but 0 dollars (Hence I have been absent from the last few events).  I would love to attend if people either sponsor me, or buy cards from me.  But my car is in shop till tuesday, so I can only come if I get ride from Vacaville, and entry fee. Sad

We only had 9 players, but we had a great time, playing 5 rounds of swiss and a cut to top 4, with some new faces and great matches.

Before we schedule another one of these, I'd like to find out what's causing our shrinkage.

Did Jeff Huang, Campee, Ocho, Heiner, aahz, etc all know about this?  What about Brett, and others?

I think Eudemonia is scheduling these tournaments too close together, especially when you add in the occasional Vacaville tournament. When I started scheduling the Vacaville tournaments, there were zero other Vintage events happening in Northern California. I purposely scheduled events 2+ months apart to keep a level of scarcity for Vintage events. The player pool is not large, and you have to give people a sense that if they miss one event, they are not going to be able to play Vintage again for a long time.  Between Vacaville and Eudemonia we have already had 9 Vintage or Old School events this year. I think that's too many.

Another important factor is that there is just a lot going on in the fall. School has started for some people, football is back, baseball is getting close to the post-season... Maybe people are just choosing to do other things.

Glad to hear that some new faces showed up. I did know about this one (didn't I mention to you and Dustin last weekend that I couldn't make it?). I kept the previous Sunday open for Old School, so my wife planned a backpacking trip for the following weekend. This one felt like especially short notice, too. BC is spot on with his assessment. The last handful of Eudo events have just had unfortunate timing for me, with the rest of my life getting in the way of Vintage. The same problems with people from the Bay Area coming out to Vacaville also apply to me coming out to Berkeley.

To the point of "there are too many vintage and old school tournaments".
First, I would not clump vintage and old school together for this count. I know the few people who have replied likely lump them together, I am just pointing out that is the minority.
Which leaves us with 6 tournaments in 9 months I believe.
I think that is quite a good ratio as I would rather play vintage over any other formats. I actually think this is quite fantastic. Previously, when I lived in other regions of the country getting 4 vintage tournaments a year was incredibly unlikely unless you were cool with driving 3 states away. I think the problem is not vintage vs other formats just magic vs life in this situation. Keep on scheduling them, people will come if they can. If we get 20, great. If we get 9, great. If we don't have a tournament, I predict zero people will be playing vintage.

The number of tournaments to me sounds right.  Ideally, the Eudo tournaments would be quarterly.  I'm going to wait a while before scheduling another.

6 tourneys a year (split between Eudo and Vaca) is totally fine by me. Way better than 0 per year.  My ability to come to these is entirely random (over the sumemr). (ie, cash flow intake).  Had I had some tutoring gigs in a more timely manner, I would have made one of the last few.  I'm always up for Vintage tourneys, it's just been a bad run these last few months.I can't imagine missing the next one, whenever that happens. Would have liked to have made it, but football season is busy season for me in tv production.  I did know about it.  I also knew about the Old School tournament the adjacent weekend and would have liked to make that as well.
