If Tony is on TMD, I'd love to talk to him about the merits of Sword of Fire and Ice. Never got around to telling him I was running it in conjunction with Batterskull.

Hey this is Tony.  Now knowing you were running Batterskull and SoFI makes more sense.  I can see both being a 4 turn clock (batterskull + the stoneforge vs a stoneforge w/ the sword).  As you didn't need the lifelink (not like I was going to pressure you too much with a landstill list) drawing the extra card with the sword was the right call.

It was really frustrating staring at the 1 of Academy ruins in my hand both games, and not drawing into 1 of my 4x ee's.

As always, fun games with good people. Congrats to top 8.

Thanks man. SoFI is such a blow out in the mirror and I was unsure if you were running the package as well.

Demagoguery, hope we get to battle next time!
I don't know who you are, nor do I know what you want, but I promise you this, I will find you and I will play some intense magic with you, especially if it's a top 8 quarter final match.

I did not use them at this event, but for future reference, how does this community feel about collectors edition cards as power.  When double sleeved, are the corners still a concern?  I greatly dislike the potential for confusion created by my terrible sharpie handwriting.

Unfortunately just about any judge would be forced to not allow CE as proxies.  Because even though the double sleeves help remove obvious marking, they are still marked if you're looking for them.

Bill Copes bought me a beer after using the power of his mind to remove all the Bazaars and Serum Powders from my deck in two consecutive games.
