Hi, I apologize if this is common knowledge or posted elsewhere, but I'm wondering if there are any places to play Vintage around the NYC area?  I recently moved to Brooklyn and am going to grad school at NYU.  All my power cards are sitting in a safety deposit box at a nondescript bank in a nondescript city in the Midwest.  I'm going home for Christmas and if I knew that I could play periodically out here, I might bring the cards back.  I haven't played in a Vintage tournament since 2005 (Control Slaver!!) and would love the opportunity again.  Seems like there are a lot of postings for tournaments around Philly and Boston.  Is there any activity around me?  Thanks for any help.  And, no, I'm not interested in MODO Vintage.  I'm glad it exists, but it's not for me.

Welcome to the East Coast, and the epicenter of the American Vintage community.

You should PM Changster (Roland Chang) regarding Vintage events in Brooklyn at 20 Sided Store.

Beyond that, there is a regular scene on Long Island at a few stores. Comic Book Depot is holding an event next weekend. They're accessible from the Long Island Railroad, with a short ride from the station after. If you were interested in going, I'd help find you a ride there.

PM me if you need more names of info.

Hey, welcome! Hit me up via pm Smile

Looking forward to getting you into the fold here on the west coast. I'm originally from Ohio, so I can surely relate. Vintage is alive and well around here!

Thanks guys.  That's great to know that there is still some activity here.  I'm going to send you a PM Changster.  I probably won't be able to attend anything until next semester as I'm finishing up final papers for this semester and I don't even have any cards here.

There's also events in NJ and PA that people regularly travel to, myself included. I can help with rides if you're interested in any of those. (Top Deck Games, Tales of Adventure, The Players Guild, Games and Stuff, and MVP are all in driving distance).

Thanks Samolt.  I'm going to try to bring a deck back to NYC this January.  Are most of these tournaments 10 proxy?  I'm thinking if they are that I'll leave my power 9 back home and just proxy the power so I'm not worrying about having that much money in cards out here.

The events are almost 10-15 proxy, but most people are at 0-5 that frequent them often.
