So I played yesterday 18 man 75 proxy event, pretty much the same list I 3-1'd the daily with last weekend, changed from the 2 caverns to 2 more factories and the 2 SoFI in the SB become batterskulls (again).

http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/mtgo-standings/vintage-daily-2014-11-16#decklists (I'm AlphaQnz online)

4 Ancient Tomb
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Mishra's Workshop
1 Strip Mine
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Wasteland
1 Duplicant
1 Karn, Silver Golem
4 Kuldotha Forgemaster
4 Lodestone Golem
2 Phyrexian Metamorph
3 Phyrexian Revoker
1 Steel Hellkite
1 Sundering Titan
1 Wurmcoil Engine
4 Chalice of the Void
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Sol Ring
4 Sphere of Resistance
4 Tangle Wire
4 Thorn of Amethyst
1 Trinisphere

1 Duplicant
3 Crucible of Worlds
4 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Batterskull
3 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
2 Tormod's Crypt

R1 - Alan on Fatestitcher dredge, G1 usual G1 blow out, G2 I start with a T1 cage which gets claimed, I have Tabernacle & I get a forgemaster in play however he manages to get all 4 Ichorid's in play and fatestitcher taps that down to deal exacties when I could have fetched a tormods crypt to leave him with 3 cards in his library if I could have untapped.
0-1 (0-2)

R2 - Dan on Metalworker MUD, G1 I T1 Chalice and sphere him and grind him out & have a revoker naming metalworker and Wurmcoil seals the deal. G2 on the play becomes a mana denial game with trading wastelands and strip mines with me holding off till T5 to play my first workshop when I windmill slam the newly drawn crucible. 4 Turns later he has zero lands and 3 moxes in play when I land hellkite, he responds with metamorph and then concedes when I duplicant his hellkite before attacking
1-1 (2-2)

R3 - Ryan on white trash, Ryan rolled over my dredge opponent in R2 with multiple answers G1 and G2. He did comment in testing he'd not be able to beat shops... Well G1 he wins the roll and proceeds to bury me with chalice zero, a 2/2 bear and mindsensor and 3 of his 4 wastelands  (I'd note at this time I'm playing zero proxies with BB power) which was slightly amusing to Ryan and others to watch the proxied trash deck roll over the $15K deck..... G2 I land sphere T1 and trisphere T2 (protecting my workshop) and then put him into the ground with wires and metamorph'd wires. G3 on the draw I lodestone after lodestone and then get him into a chalice lock after duplicanting his mindsensor to remove the flyer I can't deal with.
2-1 (6-3)

R4 - Will on UR delver, first time playing vintage 16 year old. Has won PTQ and T8'd a GP so generally a good player. I win the roll, he mulls to 5, I put a T1 Lodestone on the stack, he thinks and lets it resolve, I then chalice 0. His turn he does nothing,,,, he's kept a no lander vs me! I proceed to put forgemaster on the stack and he says "I'm going to force that" and I reply "how are you going to pay the 1" and point at the lodestone... he grabs my lodestone and reads then starts scooping his cards up.....
G2 he lets my thorn resolve then forces paying 1 for my chalice 1 and then lands a pyro. I figure at this time this game is going to run away from me when I top deck lodestone which resolves, I then proceed to land threat after threat after threat while he struggles on 2 lands attempting to kill things with a solo pyro which gets given chump blocking duty soon enough, this game lasts much longer than the final board state suggests but I beat him to death with 2 forgemasters seeing as I drawn my titan & wurmcoil somewhere along the way and couldn't quite hard cast either of them!
3-1 (8-3)

R5 - Toby playing the 74 card mirror (he copied my list from the daily)! Toby has got into legacy in the last year or so and was giving vintage a nudge as proxies allow him too. Toby and I play at the same store and are locked for T8 if we ID so we shake hands than then he asks to play. In retrospect I was likely locked for T8 at 3-2 anyway so I should have played to get the top seed as being on the play for me is so important.
G1 I win the roll and after some time we're throwing haymakers at each other and I get Wurmcoil online, Toby responds with his own Wurmcoil, I then get forgemaster online and sack my wurmcoil (tokens, value!) to it to fetch duplicant to remove his wurmcoil. He activates his forgemaster in response and gets revoker to shut off my forgemaster (he had to sack his) and in a couple turns later I land hellkite and end the game with the pumping flyer.
G2 he opens on mox mox wasteland chalice 0, I go T1 crucible, T2 wire.... a few turns later I land hellkite and blow up his moxes and its game over.... damnit I knew should have played!
3-1-1 (10-3)

T8 - Chris playing Oath, Chris is a local gaming celeb as he owns Path of Exile and almost as big a fan of vintage as me! We have a history, this is the 3rd time we've met in T8's, currently 0-2 to him. He's on the play as the 3rd seed.
G1 we start off pretty normal, I land a couple spheres, a revoker on Black Lotus (Which he played without using T1), 2 factories and then get a lodestone into play. He’s not doing much aside from cantriping and I figure he’s looking for answers as he’s played BUG gush control at the last few events when he taps 4 mana and drops oath into play. I get rocked back in my chair here, holy heck, he’s on oath? I swing in and put him down to 9, hard cast Sundering Titan blowing up his lands and am forced to pass back the turn and the 7/7 flying demon shows up. Chris does the math and works out he prob needs to draw 7 to get an answer as he’s on 9 and is looking at 18 points of damage including the damn titan which stomps his GB. He draws and scoops em up after getting nothing.
G2 he has the dreaded orchard mox oath opener, I top deck the cage!! I figure he’s got force so I figure revoker blew him out in G1 & I wonder if he’ll fear it again and put it on the stack first, he thinks and says “force” and then “this the first time all day I’ve had the nut opener, orchard, oath and FoW backup”, I respond by putting cage on the stack….. he looks at his 2 remaining cards and says “wow that makes this hand look a lot worse”. 2-3 turns go by, I get 2 sphere’s into play but cannot draw a damn threat! Needless to say Chris gets up to 3 mana and claims my cage and the big fellow turns up….. 2 attack phases later I’m scooping them up.
G3, on the play, T1 Mana crypt, sphere, cage, T2 (lose roll) sphere, T3 metamorph on the cage! BOOYA take that oath! I then proceed to land revoker naming lotus and (lose roll) duplicant which I cast as a 2/4 and waste a land or 2. I’m on 12, he’s on 14… both on a 4 turn clock however I need to lose 4 dice rolls for mine to kick in. We have an odds always hurt rule…. I roll a 1 (9-10), I roll a 5 (6-6), I roll a 5 (3-2) and we get to the last upkeep and his words are “this is going to be real dirty if that rolls an odd number” and I roll a 1……. I lost a game, match and T4 spot to my own crypt after losing 6 out of 8 rolls in a game when I opponent never even played a spell. As an aside I mentioned I’ve played Chris twice before in T8’s? One was at GP Auckland 2012 and I lost then when he hurkyl’s in his upkeep in response to a tangle wire trigger and I just happened to put the mana crypt I was holding into play through without thought when I didn’t need it and got killed by it and the other time was when in G3 I T1 doomsday’d and lost cause I played the U Sea in my hand and not the fetch leaving me without enough mana to cast my pass the turn stack with FoW backup….
3-2-1 (11-5) but morally 12-4!

Props:
Vintage for the first time since March!
The 18 players who came out and played with us, its exams time so several students couldn’t make it
The 8 (8!) players who turned up with zero proxies just because they could 
Finishing my beta P10 set!

Slops:
Mana crypt
The dice
The payout of the store, they pay out in credit which is all good however they took $60 out of the pool and then also make a profit on the credit sales which means they effectively took $150 out of the $450 in entries…..

And because every post is better with a pic here’s my babies

Thanks for reading
