It's clear R&D got scared after KTK. Seeing that, really makes me think that they gonna restrict Cruise next.

Out of curiosity, how long in advance of set releases are the details finalized?  I thought they were set in stone long before release, but perhaps they now have an opportunity to modify things based on the previous set's impact.

Soulfire looks to me like something that belongs in a Patriot Stoneforge list or in salvagers. Being able to loop a timewalk is pretty backbreaking, but even turning your bolts into helixes seems like a very important tempo play in a format overwhelmed with delver. Will absolutely get a play set and keep my eyes peeled for ways to break it.

The cards of FRF were indeed made and finalized before KTK went out, so the card we see are the cards as they were made, without any impact from what happened after the release of Cruise/Dig
(MaRo confirmed it again yesterday on his tumbler account)
They may however have had the time to make changes for Dragons of Tarkir.

The lifelink/buyback bear is absolutely amazing in all competitive formats. This is a creature that improves both the early game and the late game. Adding lifelink to burn spells is a massive tempo boost early and then giving recursion to those same spells later is insane.

Add to that some potential for combo shenanigans in the right shell and I won't be surprised to see this bear make an impact in every format.

I don't think this is necessarily playable, but I thought this one was interesting since this marks the second card that can return from exile.  Superior to Misthollow Griffin in play, but 1 more mana, and requires either B/G.

Love that it pitches to FoW and then gets better. Free alpha strikes are good too. The fact that it can be used at instant speed is relevant too. I'm not saying it's the best card in awhile or anything, but it does have applications.

Sadly only sorcery speed.
