Normal registration (at the $125 rate) has been opened up:

https://prereg.me/event/info/NYSE-Open-III

There are currently only 24 spots left.  If you intend on registering for the event, I recommend sooner rather than later.

EDIT:  Updated registration.

The registration list has been updated; we are now at 129 players, making this an eight round tournament.

Additionally, I will be adding a box of Modern Masters II to the random giveaway prize pool!

If you haven't pre-registered, and you intend on attending, please do so!  We have 21 spots left.

Gents, I know that this isn't really an issue with most everyone I know in the Vintage community, but I want to mention now that theft will be caught, and punished.  There are cameras, there are licensed guards; thieves will be caught, charges will be pressed, it will be an awful experience.  Let's hope that anyone with malicious intentions stays home.

In other news, I have had two oversize posters created with the mat image that Greg Fenton created.  I have left a large bar of white space on both.  My intent was to have everyone who played in the main event sign the first one (in the white space) as they registered.  The second one is currently being altered by Greg, and will be a free giveaway to someone who plays in the Depot tournament on 6/28.

Both look excellent, and are great keepsakes from the event.  I hope you like them as much as I do.

How soon did you mean?  Wink

This year's playmats are in! Here's a picture of one of them next to the old one:

Over the past week, I have received several private messages regarding this year's official N.Y.S.E. Open playmats, though I am only seeing a lot of them for the first time today. If you plan on attending the event and physically picking one up the day of the event, you don't need to reach out to me to reserve one or pay in advance. I printed quite a bit more this time around, so it shouldn't be as big of an issue as it was last year, though they are still somewhat limited. If you want one, I encourage you to purchase one as soon as possible. Please don't wait until the end of the day to pick one up, as I can't guarantee that there will still be any left.

I will also have a very limited final stock of last year's playmat, as well. I realize that I did not print nearly enough of these and several people were saddened at not being able to acquire one. I'm hoping to correct that this year.

If you are unable to physically attend the event, but would like to purchase either playmat, please reach out to me to let me know this so we can arrange something. Smile

See you all at the party! Smile

I can't take credit for that, as that belongs to Visna Harris.

I sincerely believe that the N.Y.S.E. Open trophy is the nicest trophy given out in Magic.  I've seen two trophies that a friend won for winning a couple of Grand Prix, and I don't think they compare.

We currently have 13 spots left for registration, and we're counting down the days to the main event.  There are many, many, many moving parts on this, but I'm excited, and I hope you guys are too.

Those trophies are incredible, the only ones I've seen that compare are the EW paintings.

A far cry from the crap starcity hands out...oh you just won a 500 person tourney? Here's a repurposed participation trophy from a youth soccer league that we bought at goodwill and updated with $4 of engraving.

I don't think anything will ever beat winning the painting, though in my mind, I thought of them as art before trophies.

Regardless, I am very happy to announce that we have one more artist to add to the panel!  Bryon Wackwitz is making the trek to the N.Y.S.E. Open!  For a full list of Bryon's work, check here:

http://magiccards.info/query?q=a%3A%22bryon+wackwitz%22&v=card&s=cname

Also, with last night's registrations, we currently only have nine spots left!

Good luck everyone and I'll keep my eyes peeled for results and reports this weekend.

I'm getting back into Vintage after a 6 or 7 year hiatus and will definitely try to get to the NYSE IV next year as it's not too far a drive from Pittsburgh.
Looks like a lot of fun and I like the heightened stakes!

And we're here!

Online registration is fully closed as of last night, and we currently have 144 145 participants.  This is more than 150% of last year's attendance.  We're approaching the range where NYSE Open III has the attendance of the first two events, combined.  Wild.

If you've reached out to me about dice, or need anything else, I'll be at Comic Book Depot tonight between 6-7 pm before I head out to run the last few errands before the event.  I will also have the poster being given away on Sunday with me, if you'd like to see.

I hope you're as excited for this as I am!  It's going to be a great weekend.

Would love to attend this event, but couldn't find the time to travel from Norway. Hopefully next year!

I read that the event would be streamed, but couldn't find out where? Can someone please post a link? Also, when does the stream start?

Thanks,
